isn’t there reason to believe that Housley was the biggest problem with them on the ice? Not in the room, leadership, etc. actual results on the ice. I’d think he coached the d corp (terrible) and I thought he was the PP guy (terrible)

People need to relax. They won’t. But they should. Everything will be ok.

Houslet certainly did not help the situation. A few mentioned to me they thought he didn’t do a good job in Buffalo, so this wasn’t a massive surprise. Unsure all can be attributed to him. Soucy was not playing well in Vancouver either.

I read physical limitations not that he is hurt but like when you go an amusement park and have to be a certain height to ride the rides lol

he’s picking bigger players. That’s the point lol the conscious effort is there to get bigger and badder and harder to play against. Which is ultimately the problem with this team/roster

Ok, fine. What exactly has he done to merit trading Kakko for him? Youre telling me thats all he could find? Like I said, it was a knee jerk trade. Kakko was unhappy, he said something in the media, Drury shipped him out for less than ideal value. Then he went and signed Borgen to a 5 year extension after 6 games, and IMO overpaid.

Now let me ask you this, if you're Braden Schneider, what must you be thinking? You go from being the heir apparent, to potentially stuck behind Borgen. If the plan is still to grow Schneider as a 2D, then why TF are you paying Borgen 4.1m to be a 3rd pairing defender? The same philosophy that many of you used here in regards to Goodrow being over paid and how we could get the same for less for a 4th liner, applies here.

Borgen extnesion made little sense. Traded kakko for him was even worse. Like borgen but that trade was not great

Borgen is no more than a 3-4-5 defense man on a Cup contender. This defense, including Fox doesnt scare anyone. If anyone is watching these playoffs man have they been physical, even the Leafs. The Rangers defense would have been toast.

Edit, I just saw Borgen has a full NTC come July 1st. Wow we were so lucky to sign him, he must have been in huge demand so thats why Drury signed him and then gave him a full NTC. I mean, its not like this team hasnt been burned by NTC's before.

100%. Rangers just are not a mean enough team. Some real scumbags are needed to win a cup. Messier for as a good as he was might have been the biggest one. You need them

Eureka! That’s what he’s trying to change

JT Miller is a bad ass.
Borgen is in fact a bad ass
Carrick, bad ass
Soucy is a sucky badass but a bad ass nonetheless

He. Can’t. Win. With. You. Guys.

Borgen has 10 more hits on the year then miller. Def more physical than miller but hes not a nasty player or overly physical. Plays a tough game though

So he got rid of the meanest, hardest hitting defense man in Trouba. To me, Borgen is a Trouba, without the fear of hitting someone.

But he sucked lol all the sudden he left and now he was great again? wtf. We couldn’t wait to get rid of him last year

I know no one will give Borgen a chance because of Kakko. He’s really important back there and necessary

I didnt say he was great, I said he was as good as Borgen was but he was also the glue that apparently held the team together so be it what it may.

Thats the problem, Borgen is the best Defense man on the team. This a defense really sucks.

I think everyone like Borgen. But wanted more in a kakko deal. Also watching these PO you think Borgen is playing in anyones top 4? No. Most likely their bottom pair.

Don’t lump me in I like the Borgen deal. With a better system and players around him who actually care and try he will be fine as a 4/5 d man

Again, for the 21213087753802 time.

Its not the fact that we have these people, its the cost at which they have come. (except Miller, regardless of opinions on whether or not it was right, the cost was solid)

Is that what Kakko costs? A bottom half defenseman?
