I have to be up at 4 am on Wednesday to drive to Montreal, so I was really hoping for the sweep. - Atomic Wedgie
Oh man, what time do you have to leave? I know it’s 7-8 hours from London depending on traffic but from the GTA? At that time of day?
I typically have to get up at 5am to help my girl get ready for work (I make breakfast and get her lunch together and tidy up the house) so it’s nowhere near having to drive for that long but at least I’m used to getting up that early. I’m also the type that only gets about 4 hours of sleep anyways.
Anyways for you I’ll hope the leafs don’t need OT to take it tomorrow

From Last Blog:
Woder health update.
Well, turns out I have bicep and rotator cuff tendinopathy in the left arm…like a severe case of tendinitis in both shoulder and bicep. Doctor Hottie prescribed Naproxin and therapy, “that will bring tears to your eyes”. I laughed and she said, “I’m not joking”.
Or, I can try Cortisone shots, but still require physical therapy and the ultrasound treatments. She’d rather avoid Cortisone shots if I can continue to handle the pain. (Enter Leafs reference here).
“Based on the swelling and inflammation I see, along with the dramatic loss of mobility, you’re in for the long haul. I hope you didn’t have any plans to go rock climbing this summer?”
Of course being the Wods I am, I tried the,“Will I be able to play the violin when this is all over?”, joke.
Yeah….same reaction as you guys.
I have a poop ton of yard work to do…egads.

Hey shoulder in pain buddy!
I had an Xray done a few weeks ago followed by an Ultrasound on my left shoulder a couple weeks ago due to pain that ranges from 'sore' to "OMFG even moving my shoulder in the slightest has me writing in pain".
Diagnosis - Some Osteoarthritis, Tendinopathy and an added bonus of a free of charge bone spur in my left shoulder.
I've tried 'doing nothing' with it and that's nearly impossible, Advil / Tylenol / Naproxen don't' really help at all so some nights I barely sleep it's brutal.
I was given the same great news - PT but it's going to hurt. A LOT.
I haven't made a PT appointment yet, just been trying Dr. Ho's on the shoulder and it helps a bit for a bit.
I will try some PT and maybe IMS therapy because my wife tried IMS therapy on her herniated disk with nerve impingement and said immense pain during treatment but mucho relief afterwards.

So anyways...
Leafs!
Amirite? - Atomic Wedgie
Didn't see this discussed anywhere yet but WTF was Marty St.Louis thinking pulling the goalie with almost 3 minutes left down by 1?
That backfired big time - yes bad luck on the hop over Hutson's stick but still that seems way too early a pull to me only down 1 goal.
I understand some Habs fans are upset about the call on the Ovi hit only being 2 minutes and Wilson hit on Carrier not resulting in a whistle that then ended up in the back of the Habs net. I get it 100%, they feel like they have been jobbed on non-calls this series and seeing Cole Caufield getting sticks to the face so often with no calls this makes sense.
Is Caufield known as a diver? It's not like he's got a Kadri or Bunting jersey on! lol
I'm also seeing both the Habs and Caps were fined 25K per team as well as Xhekaj and McIIrath from the Caps both got the max fine all for soemthing in pre-game warmups.
I found this clip but I'm not sure why the Cap player got fined maybe he did something that isn't on this video?

4:05 a.m. is the goal time.
If I leave early enough, I'll sail through Oshawa (typically the worst to drive through - east or west). But then I'll hit traffic driving into Montreal - there's a patch just west of the city where it stops being a highway - you go through a little town and it has about 5 sets of lights, and a bridge that is always backed up.
It's brutal.
Goal it to get to my daughter's apartment by 10 am. Do some light packing and dissasembly, then pick up the moving van at noon. The van needs to be back by 4 pm, which I actually did on purpose, because it will force us to move fast. She's literally moving one block south, so we can do multiple trips quickly.
Re-assemble some furniture from 5 pm to 6 pm, then drag my old, aching body into a shower for 15 minutes. Get dressed, and go to a rowdy sports bar to cheer on the Habs.
Wake up Thursday morning and drive back home - hopefully with no temptation to veer northwest to Ottawa because there is no game 6.

Looking forward to another home game tomorrow!! - Dozzer
Me too since I get to be there in person!
Frist row 300's going to be a beauty view of the Sens season ending!
It's going to be a long day at work at the office, luckily I had no meetings beyond 3 so by 330 I should be downtown with a cold beverage in hand to kill time before the dinner reservation at Real Sports Bar (which I'm shocked I could get on game day by the way).
I chose Real Sports Bar so that if it's raining (which it could be) the walk to the rink is super short + the atmosphere outside the rink is always electric at playoffs.

Habs rely solely on The PP at home. If they don't get it they're doomed.

Silly? but would it have been easier to just fly into Montreal and get an uber to get the moving van etc? I only ask because I know a guy who flew his kid to see the game in Montreal last night via Porter and said the flight was awesome.

Oh I don't disagree there are a lot of better places to go, I haven't been to RSB in a few years (since my friend left who used to be the GM there actually) but tomorrow it's all about convenience and being close to the rink.
I'm just surprised I could get a reservation on a game day, it's hard to get one anywhere on game day usually anywhere close to the SBA.

It's the old Patrick Roy strategy, which I kinda like, even if I don't necessarily agree with it.
If you are going to roll the dice, why not roll it early? As soon as you have puck possession, you may as well start pressing your luck.
I'm sure they are out there - I'd love to see stats on the effectiveness of pulling your goalie. - Atomic Wedgie
I'm not a big fan of the super early pull when down one partially because I'm sure it's cemented in my brain that you pull the goalie with 1 min left full stop & that's just 'traditional'. The other reason I don't like it is due to what happened to the Habs, a bad hop and your now down 2 with more than enough time to get one but 2 is a hill that's often just to big to climb.
I know Roy kinda' popularized it in the NHL but I' would be interested in seeing some stats for sure.........paging Stat Dr. Monkey..............
