Honestly winning a game 4 when you're down 3 to 0 is just more pain. Good on the Senators for playing and being a hard out, but tonight they are going down faster than a who-er at a cock party.

Zub's was childs play vs Mikolla and Ekblad. I honestly respect it more.

Yup. I predicted this exact scenario before it started.

Leafs 5

Sens 1

Matthews 2 goals

I am being serious I wonder how many games a Leafs player gets if they do those plays.

I mean bunting and kadri are good examples of what would happen.

Bunting got 3 games for a softer play and arguably an accident.

Yeah NHL is definitely dropping the ball, as per their usual.

Oh it's an absolute joke.

Wish I could say I'm surprised but it's business as usual for the NHL.

I love how late the NHL is being on even announcing they get hearings.

It better be because they are deciding if one of them is getting an in person hearing because its a no brainer they both get phone hearings at minimum.

Is Ekblad a repeat offender???

I remember doing this to myself in the Leafs Panthers series when the Leafs were down 3-0. Fun times.
- Santo_44

Honestly, it is fun. We know it's a major long shot, after so many years of terrible play it's good to see them in the playoffs again. And they have been improving through the series , which is what we wanted to see.

Can't agree here.

Getting swept would be 100x worse. Especially for a team that hasn't made it in years. Especially for the fans.

If they do lose to ight they still have the positives from game 4 to build upon, and still be hungry.

4. Suspension:
The NHL's disciplinary board considers various factors when determining a suspension, including the severity of the foul, the player's previous disciplinary record, and the potential for lasting harm.
Deliberate elbowing to the head is almost certain to result in a suspension, and the length of the suspension will depend on the circumstances.

1. Severity? Yes
2. Previous disciplinary record? uhm dude has been suspended for 20 of the last 22 games lol
3. Lasting harm? Hagel left the game and did not return.

He should get 4-5 games but he will not get any.

False positives maybe.

I don’t even know if Ottawa makes the playoffs next year.

It was a great game on Saturday, instant classic.

Mostly I'm saying I wish the Leafs hadn't come back at all against the Panthers cause it sucked.

It truly makes me wonder just how much "we are always trying to protect players" actually matters vs them going "ratings!" as more people click and watch for the hate of these hits.

Speaking of turds, how well do you think the toilet seats are going to bounce back?
- Whipper

they are not, I predicted they would out in 5 against the conference top team so I am expecting a loss tomorrow and the beginning of the golf season.

Well losing Montembeault and now Carrier pretty much seals it. Maybe they get one more win but I doubt it.

Good effort by the young team though, a few lucky bounces and they could have stolen that series.

The officiating sure didn't help Montreal who was already the underdog.

I love hockey as much as Boomtown loves his wife (Letterkenny reference for the uninitiated) but the inconsistency in how they officiate / hand out supplementary discipline sure makes it a hard league to respect/take seriously.

Wonder if/when the NHLPA finally blasts them about it or if they view it as a union member on union member issue & will just stay quiet?

It doesn't feel like either the NHL or the NHLPA wants to take player's safety seriously.

But if changes were to happen, it would need to come from the players or following a lawsuit because former players would live with consequences of headshots or something.

Like in a lot of things in life, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you don’t like something or someone you just need to whine and cry about it until you create a big enough scene for the discipliners take action.

I've never understood the thought process of playing well in a playoff series loss as a positive for the future. You're either good enough or you aren't. Look no further than the Leafs as a prime example. We played a load of overtimes that first year vs the Caps and kept it close in a 6 game series. Nothing was learned, the future didn't get brighter. There are no guarantees.

It’s so (frank)ing embarrassing how the media or fans were always talking about the Leafs taking losses as lessons and they gotta learn from it. (frank) all that.

The NHLPA is run to maximize players earnings and not stop injuries. You get paid in full when you get injured. You lose earnings and create precedents for others to lose earnings when you get punished for infractions.

By the way, I recently got banned for, on April Fool's Day, I posted on Ek's April Fool joke thread after lunch saying aren't you supposed to do these jokes before noon? Banned for a week.

Banning longtime contributing posters seemingly at random is a curious choice but then I'm not the father of the fake hockey rumours website industry.

OFFENDING POST:
The Flyers have a high moral standard for their players, and true or not, the organizations character had come into question. Also, the NHL is really strict on as they call it, “Even the appearance of evil.”

Dude:

They traded for Billy Tibbetts.

Yes, that is a good point. A definite scar on the flyers"
