My buddy brought Modelo to watch the game with me. Not sure which spoiled the night more, that poop ass Mexican garbage water or the Core-5's play.

It’s not over yet boys. If you could’ve told me leafs have a chance to close out the sens in 6 before the series started I would’ve taken it all day.

If they were dominating and they were getting goalied by Ullmark, sure, but they're last in the playoffs for 5v5 chances, and besides a smoking hot PP in game 1, they could've lost the next 2 games.

They don't look deadly, they're not scaring anyone, they're far too deep inside their heads.

We may still squeak this one out, but this team is cooked. Time to blow it up.

Leafs need to make some roster changes for game 6.

Knies Matthews Marner
Jarnkrok Tavares Robertson
Pacioretty Domi Nylander
Lorentz Kampf Reaves

It’s hard to take McMann out, but he’s been so bad.

Taking Robertson out was a mistake: he brought a lot of energy and a shot that has to be respected. Even with the dumb penalty (Domi's had how many dumb penalties?), he still should be playing... and what happened to roster changes only after a loss?

Patches looks pretty ineffective out there.

Another "fun" stat: apparently we're 0-30 on the PP in close-out games

You can't make this poop up

I still think the Leafs got this.

But my, from an entertainment point of view, this is great.

Agreed.
This core is the laughing stock on the league and for good reason.
Four $10m+ players and neither one is ever clutch....neither one ever steps up in crunch time.
They may win this series, but im not expecting much going forward

Put Robertson back in, probably not a good move to take him out.
In hindsight.

Toronto doesn't need a culture change if they lose again and to Ottawa?!?!?

Marner for Rantanen. Better

Marner for Thachuk. Better

Both of the deals WERE possible but didn't happen because Leafs.

Just because you don't see a player yet, doesn't mean if the team had the balls to trade Marner they wouldn't get better.

Vet coaches always love vet players. Would be an interesting stat to see how often rookies cost the team a game; I bet it's next to zero.

Always seems the reason they get pulled is for far less egregious things than vets.

Well considering they ended up trading him for Huberdeau, I'm guessing they would have liked Marner better, if anything because he was younger.

But yeah, most likely all speculation. The Leafs never intended to trade Marner.

We all drank the blue cool aid in the first three games!

Total lack of heart in our Core.

And what the hell is wrong with the crowd in Toronto? Get the hell up off your seats and make some noise. They should remove all the seat and force everyone to stand, hand out free beer, and let it get wild. Zero intimidation in our building… Its disgraceful!

The Leafs have ONE more chance. WIN IN OTTAWA. No way they take a game 7.

Yeah idk wtf is up with McMann and Patches. Uncharacteristically bad.

Robertson will bring a ton of energy.

Tanev and Stolarz have been the best players so far this series.

Seriously what’s wrong with Matthews!?! He hasn’t been a game breaker at all. Nylander isn’t even scoring. If he’s not scoring he’s utterly useless. Tavares looks like someone who got his bell rung. Jarnkrok, Lorentz, and Laughton are all cement hands.

Have you ever tried to eat sushi standing up, it's not easy. You got to think about all those season ticket holders and their special needs first, they are the paying customer.

And one more thing..

It pissed me right off when they were down in the third how they just didn’t bring any jam whatsoever on the forecheck. There was so many opportunities to crush guys along the boards and they just floated in there. It’s just disgusting and frankly I put this on Berube. He can make an argument that he doesn’t have the right kind of players to play that way, but that’s how you win. Laughton, Patches, McMann, Lorentz, Jarnkrok are all so god damn underwhelming.

I have nothing bad to say about the defence tho. They’re jumping up in the play, making hits, blocking shots..

This series has been called a bit tighter than others, at least from a physicality point of view, so players are probably concerned about taking penalties to some extent.

But this all rests on the top players who've proven year after year, they can't elevate their game in the playoffs when it counts.

I don't know if I've ever seen this before in hockey. Maybe some SJ teams and Caps teams that were stacked, but not to this extent.
