if you use a lot of sauce or spices, you end up having to clean it after a while, tons of build up inside that clog the burners or in my case, the bottom of the BBQ kept catching fire

Need a good cleaning at least once a year. Scrubbing + shop vac. My old bbq lasted 14 years with good care. It's worth it and not that much work.
