Doesn't take much in the Eklund's main thread to get a 3 month holiday. Ask for a Utah blogger or call the Quenville hiring disgusting.

Have you found a team with less than 8 that have win the cup yet?

As someone who has played on both European sized and North American sized rinks, there's a learning curve you're completely ignoring. I'm gonna drop this now because it's clear you haven't experienced it on the ice first hand. Plus you're obviously having problems with the correlation part.

I found two teams since the 2000 Stanley Cup that have had less than 8 Canadians on them. But I had stipulations, you had to play three or more playoff games in the year any one team won the Cup to make a meaningful impact.

The 2007 Anaheim Ducks had the most with 17. The 2015/16 Penguins had 7 Canadians and the 2017/18 Capitals also had 7.

With the current average NHL team Canadian numbers being ~41% the law of averages would say you'd be hard pressed to find a team with less than 10 Canadians on a team.

That number is seemingly declining every year.

So 2 teams at 7 players in the entire modern history of the NHL with your adjustments. Great odds.

The number also has been pretty static in and around 10 for the last decade. More Canadians before that time frame when the style of Hockey was even heavier and more confined.

I'm not trying to sway the conversation one way, or the other, just found it interesting to research it. As I've said earlier, I agreed with you, there's definitely merit to your side. As hockey becomes more and more global, the Cup becomes more an more of a goal for kids internationally, it's becoming less relevant. But for right now, I would like to have more than less, for sure.

How’s everyone’s sc bracket predictions going ?
I went 8/10 in the first round.
Got most of the total games wrong tho.

Jets in 6
Avs in 7
Golden Knights in 5
Kings in 6
Leafs in 6
Cats in 7
Caps in 4
Canes in 6

Round 2 prediction time:
Stars in 6
Golden Knights in 6

Cats in 7
Canes in 6

- dbot

Welp. 3/4 correct.
I keep betting against the Oilers so why stop now.

Round 3 I’ll go with
Stars in 6.
Cats in 6.

I just like that the discussion gets a rise out of some of these guys. Busting Yorks balls is good fun. Speaking of which, I'm actually surprised you aren't riding me for the ball game last night.

Ever play on an Olympic sized rink? There was one close to my hometown and Dmen generally loathed it for the space forwards had.

Yes we can. Because you keep trying to put words in my mouth, and making absurd counter arguments against my point, that do nothing to disprove it.

The fact is, this team isn't going anywhere without a bigger contingent of Canadians. No team has in the history of the NHL has won the Cup with just 2 Canadians on the roster ever. I'll go even further and say that no team has ever won it with less than 8. It's undisputable for good reason.

I'll respond tomorrow. It's too late and I've drunk too many beers to form a cohesive enough answer.

I did once, remember the same thing. Harder to hit guys too. Only once, but it was a cool experience.

So I went to the Abby Canucks game last night and was hugely disappointed, 1st goal was like 2 minutes in with a shot from the blue line that deflected a couple of times. Colorado was faster, opened lanes for passing, didn’t take poop and pressed non stop. Abby chased, took retaliatory penalties and played undisciplined. We are now down to a best of 3 all in Colorado, so it doesn’t look good to advance, but I’m hoping they can get composure and win the series so I can go to the conference finals.

Raty injured? Colorado was more desperate I think it goes 5 games with arty standing on his head in game 5.

I hope you’re right, last game was so deflating but they have lots of talent in Abby. I was hoping Raty would return last game, so hopefully for game 3. They need to come out the gate with the same intensity they had in game 1 of this series.

Awe, poor babies. Really tiring watching a Latvian – of all people – pitch a shutout. Maybe some Crylenol will help them?
