This is some NFU level acting right here.
Very convincing.

San Jose has a bright future if all these kids can translate their games to the NHL level.

Where’s the MAk breakdown?
- dbot

It’s been a long night that turned into a long day and I’m feeling a bit spent.

Last night we went into the game thinking Texas was going to be totally physical, to send a message, never happened, IMO. The 1st period was a back and forth affair, It took a few minutes for the Canucks to get their first shot on net but once they did they again attacked in waves. I thought they would score during their relentless attack but the refs handed Karlsson a really weak tripping penalty to take away momentum. Canucks PK is stellar keeping Texas to the outside and they weren’t that dangerous on the PP. Texas got a shot off at the end of the PP only for Silovs to make a save and DeGuiseppe Sending the puck onto Karlsson as he left the penalty box for a breakaway but Poirier to make a great save. The Canucks rocked in the hitting, big bone crushing hits, unfortunately Raty made a big hit and took the worst of it, they way he left the ice and how he was crunched over trying to get down the bench with help I wondered if he hurt the hip area. He never returned to the game.
The second was more of the same Canucks come out flying, dictating play until they were assessed 3 penalties in a row. That gave Texas momentum, the first penalty of the 3 was on Silovs for making a play stacking the pads only to trip the player, BS call I thought, but Silovs stood tall and saved everything his way. The next penalty was a high stick and unfortunately was a penalty but again the Canucks were a wall and Silovs even better. The 3rd penalty was another BS call for too many men, Texas called a time out but it did no good as Canucks conceded nothing and continued to force the play out of the zone. After the penalty bullpoop the Canuck took back control, there were a couple of long passes for breakaways and just overall sustained pressure. Period ended with shots 19 apiece.
The 3rd started slower for the Canucks, after 5+ minutes I had to empty the beer bladder, shots were 23 - 19 Texas and as I was waiting for a break to return to my seat when Hiorse scored, the place erupted and Canucks took charge with shots at 28 - 23 Canucks at the 12 minute mark. Lind is a whiny female dog, he try’s to instigate and then turns, he tired that with De Giuseppe on a face off after a series of tough Canucks hits, goading 34 into wanting to fight and when 34 dropped the gloves Lind wouldn’t and up goes the arm to put 34 into the box, Lind skated away mocking the Canucks only for the refs to huddle and give him a matching 2 for unsportsmanlike, boy the Texas bench were pissed. Canucks were exciting to watch 4 on 4 and whatever Texas got was easily handled by Silovs….until about 3 minutes to go. Silovs made a save under his pad and the Texas players continued to keep jabbing and eventually put the puck in the net. The ref behind made the arm gesture of a goal, and it looked like a tie game until the replay on the big screen showed Silovs clearly being pushed pad and all into his net. Now I don’t think there are any calls from above to review the call on the ice, or if when the refs huddled they looked up but the call was reversed for goalie interference. Holy (frank), finally a break from the refs after such a one sided reffing affair. Canucks held on to secure the win and shutout number 5 for Silovs in the playoffs.
At the end Lind tried to start something with Silovs who looked to head butt him and all hell broke loose, Bains was at the Stars bench taking on 5 guys, Blais was a monster physically once again and we now have a 2 game lead with a lot of hatred between these two teams.

I must say I haven’t checked to see how many Canadians the Canucks or Stars are carrying as that seems to be the contributing factor to winning championships….

Still haven't been shown a team with less than 6 in the entire history of the Stanley Cup. So obviously, you guys on the other side of the fence have nothing. Just an empty catchphrase without a shred of statistical data to even show how my evidence doesn't correlate. Just admit you're wrong and move on.

Ok show me one with 8. I love how you guys haven't done anything to show how my correlation doesn't equal causation. But keep repeating it over and over like you have.

The burden of proof falls on the person making the claim. Granted I haven't read every post you've made but as far as I know, you essentially just point at the number of Canadians on past cup winners and say "see?" rather than parse out their actual contributions and how those rate against players of other nationalities.

But a Swedish guy is leading the Abby Canucks in playoff points, so there is that.

Karlsson has been great this playoffs. Probably because he has some solid Canadians around to free him up from the gritty stuff.

I have nothing against any nationality. I have something against the blatant lack of Canadians on the Canucks roster. Seems like a few on here are more than OK with it. Not me, it's pathetic and definitely needs to be addressed if we're building a legit contender.

Being a born and raised Canadian, I agree with you just on principle alone. The Canucks need bigger, heavier, faster players to compete for the Cup, and I'm all for making them Canadians. At the end of the day they need talent, wherever that comes from, but they need a culture shift within that dressing room...if I could take my best guess on what goes on in there.

This also holds true for the Flyers, they're a light team, they need to get heavier and quicker. Along with a lot more talented. They have 8 Canadians and 3 guys from Quebec.

I don't think any of us are opposed to the idea of adding more Canadians to the roster, we just don't see it as a necessity to be a successful hockey team the way you do.
