I think you need to keep Hronek for at least another year. If Hughes gets hurt, he is the only guy that can step into that role, as he showed this past season. Not to mention the chemistry between the two of them and how dominant they are as a pairing.

If you don't trade hronek before July 1, you keep him for 7 years. Which Is not a bad thing. Not that an NMC makes him untradable, but If Willander hits 80% of his potential, he will make Hronek expenable within a season or two. Mancini looks like he will make a good partner for Hughes as well. We also have Petterson to pick up slack of Hughes is injured. I think it all boils down to how well Willander can hit the ground running. Does Hronek on our back end make us better than Robertson makes us up front?

I think you're overestimating how quickly Willander might/will reach his potential. I also think if you're trading a top 4 caliber RHD you better be getting a HAUL for him.

No, the W expanded. The Vees join this year and Chilliwack next. The BCHL is still there aside from those 2 teams.
