He can't hit the net. He's either injured or in the worst headspace ever. They need him to contribute more.
Woll was great last night. The refs were lost. That embelllishment call was brutal against Florida. On the other hand Bennett shouldn't even be playing. - Interloper

So, Florida is coming down the stretch without their top 2 forwards and their best Dman. Sens 2 points back and maybe, just maybe, will move past the Panthers.
If the Sens take the 3rd seed they will play Tampa (I would rather play the Leafs).
The Panthers could face off against the Leafs with all their injured/suspended having returned. Worst possible first round match up for Leafs. |

Trading away a playoff beast to save on cap space. Good job Colorado. |

I'm not saying taking Matthews over Laine is a mistake, but he's likely going to be better. Leafs need to take the hyped guy because of the media. |

Here we are, with a 2-0 lead against the Cup champs in round 2, best start to a playoffs since 1963, and we're lamenting the loss of Zach Hyman, when we have a younger, better Knies playing lights out.
I would've loved to have kept Hyman, but at the time, with the cap, he was an unfortunate cap casualty. Every team loses players they regret over time. I'm sure the Canes would love to have Beast Mode Rantanen right now... I'm sure FLA misses Montour... - gravyface

Didn't Sakic double down saying he didn't want to have all his money locked into 3 guys
I guess better to spend that money on overpaid depth and top 4 d-men that clearly aren't worth their contracts.
Curious if they really mess up and give Nelson a massive contract after investing their last remaining trade chips on him |

I'm not going to debate with you for any extended period of time here as I know you are usually unwaivering in your opinions.
However, what part of what I said specifically was untrue?
Here's something......Connor Brown is a bargain bin player. Zach Hyman played this year like a high end bargain bin player. 5 million a year for 44 points.
Yes. Take Jarnkrok, Kampf, and Reaves out of the lineup, and replace them with one skater in Hyman. Who fills the other holes vacated by these players with no cap room? You just going to skate 10 forwards every game? - Kinger34
He's a literal moron, he just flexed wolls .893 sv% and Marners 4th gwg in 65 games ffs. |

That's the thing. You're never in trouble for paying the elite players, you're in trouble over paying players that aren't much more than average or below. This wasn't like trying something new to get over a hump. All you had to do was keep the guys who the cup for you already. You had something proven and went with the mystery box. Totally Peter Griffin move |

(frank) the family guy reference gets me everytime
But yes, such a baffling move that had rippling effects at the time and even more on Saturday and even more after last night.

Right. Conditional one in the later years though. If he hits certain performance targets he gets better trade protection. |
