His comment about "passengers" being on the team is clear evidence that he wants to win and is frustrated that others aren't pulling their weight.
Desire does not always translate to results though, unfortunately. But thinking that he doesn't give a (frank)? I don't buy it. - mjones242
He’s OBVIOUSLY talking about Willy.
It’s going to come out any day now just how unhappy the franchise is with him. |

Marner is not the entire problem. But he's UFA and the team needs to make a major decision.
Do you pay him 14M+ for 7/8 years? I think no. - mjones242
I agree. He is not worth that. Over on the other boards Fifty Mission Cap made a great point that the failure is not letting Marner walk for nothing. That is the cherry on top of a decade of complete failure.
I am just sick of the free pass given to Matthews. What exactly did he do to take control of a game, or even a shift. He certainly didn't elevate his game. His stats, are, and always have been, much poorer in the playoffs than the regular season.

The chance he ends his career in Edmonton is 99.9%. - alex.TML Probably 100%. Not just because of the things that you mentioned, but also the fact that he hates dealing with the media. He can basically hide in Edmonton. Can you imagine him dealing with the media in Toronto, Montreal, Philly or NYC on a daily basis. Nah, not gonna happen. |

I think he doesn’t have to power to stay even if he wants to.
I think Berube has a direct line to Pelley. |

If they move Willy and Marner, who is going to score goals?
On the other side the way Nylander playing defense in playoffs can not be appreciated and tolerated by Berube any longer.
Both Willy and Mitch heavily overpaid for what they bring in playoffs. |

I hope he does.
Berube should know better than anyone else in the organization what is missing and who needs to be replaced, and with what. |

And that negates his NMC how? I think it’s possible that Tre will use his end of season discussions with players to see if they want to stay or if they’d prefer being moved. Those conversations will be very gentle. |

Question for Leafs fans. How much control if any did Shanny have over the roster? |

He basically fired Dubas when he wanted to make a move on the core 4. He’s very likely gone. |

If this is the case, I do not want Shanny with the Islanders if he did not want to make a move on the core 4. Why would Shanny not want a team with both skill and grit with the type of player he was in the NHL? |

This.
In nine years we have only seen Matthews dominate one series...that was against tampa...and alot of leafs dominated the series (Marner, Morgan, ROR). So it wasnt just matthews.
But other than that, he hasnt done much either...but he always gets a free pass.
Personally, I would trade matthews...but that isnt happening. |

How do you know anything about the culture in the locker room? - Fakepartofme
This. The locker room dynamic is the one part of a team fans are largely clueless about and is pure speculation. One day when retired Leafs go on a podcast and talk poop or write a tell all we might find out but until then it’s all BS coming from fans. |

Glad he did.
Dubas should have been fired a while ago.
Apparently the deal Dubas was going to make was Nylander for Karlsson. That would have been a huge failure for the leafs. |

Media in Edmonton has a long tradition of not being complete bumholes to Oilers players. This was instilled in the Old timers by Glen Sather and passed on generation by generation. For better or worse the Oilers players are well protected. Try and find an article out of Edmonton about Mark or Wayne’s extra curricular activities or Taylor Halls locker room impact. |

I just found out it's all YOUR fault if the Leafs feel too much pressure. It's not the players or the team construction, it's ALL on the fans and media.
You guys suck according to some players

I hope they sign Marner and Tavares to long term extension (obviously a bit shorter term for Tavares) and they both get full NMC....
How about Marner @ 8x12.8M with NMC and Tavares @ 4x7.5M with NMC for the first 3yrs and the 4th year player has a 30 teams NTC
