Marner can walk if he wants too much money....or sign and trade. Sign marner to 8 years x whatever the other team is willing to spend and trade him and morgan to Nashville for Marchessault, bunting (salary dump), Lauzon and a pick of some sort.
Use the cap space to sign some short term FA's, trade or keep Bunting and lauzon.
Or sign and trade marner and Morgan to San Jose for Toffoli and vlasic and a good pick.
Not great trades for Toronto, but they get rid of morgan and get something for marner.
They can use the money for short term FA's.
Whether either nash or SJ would do that? Who knows.
