B Tanev FOR SURE, IMO. He is non stop on forward like his bro is on D.

And ya, money is a bit high but I was considering UFA costs.

Bolded - agree and he would be a nice add too.

I think IF they could move Rielly and get a solid, gritty RHD the Leafs D would be best it's been in years.

Is that Danforth kid ready to take the step? (Forgot if he's L or R or traded but remembered he was big, gritty and close-ish)

- underhill14

Not sure about Danforth, was he on the marlies?
I honestly havent paid attention to any leafs players in the org not on the leafs

Does Pelley fill the position or have GM report directly to him?

I honestly dont know.
Ive mentioned a couple of times on here that i think the management group needs to be leaned out. Maybe his work gets spread around?
We'll see. Whos out there to replace him?

I have a friend who was an F&B Director for MLSE for a few years and has quite a few connections there still. They have been laying off or getting rid of ("elimination of the role") people at management levels throughout MLSE for over a year now apparently.

Perhaps this will result in a step back to the days of a President / GM in Toronto? I think many teams still use this model.

Could be.
Not sure how much can change.
Marner could walk for nothing, big asset loss.
They dont have any 1st rounders for the next three years.
So they gotta build through free agency? Thats rarely worked.. Unless they get more guys that truly hate to lose....cause it doesn't seem like anyone in the core hates to lose

Something has to change, so its understandable they are leaning out

I agree with overdrive, shannys biggest failure was the contract negotiations with the core 3.

Hard pass

Guy who learned to lose in winterpeg doesn't need to combine forces with losing in Toronto

How is that possible. People love pointing out how excellent Ander5en is, as if the Leafs should never have traded him (let him walk? I forget). I thought he was like the best goalie ever.

It seems nobody is too good when they facing Panthers.
Ander5en was pretty good in previous series, it is not like we never seen this before.
Bobr0vsky is really good, it is time to Bennet him.

Carolina had, by far, the easiest path to the Semi's.

Yeah, Bob is a big time goalie. He was off his game in the first couple against Toronto, but came back very strong.

Game 3 cost Leafs the series. They were lucky to have such Florida in the first 2.5 games.

The story was written in the second period game 3 when the Leafs were up 3-1 and went down 4-3. It was over. The only surprise was game 6, and I think that was because Florida got a little complacent after the game 5 blowout.

That's exactly what I am thinking too.
When Florida had A game, the result was obvious and I am not blaming Leafs at all. The only thing bother me, if Leafs finish them in game 3 they had great chance to play in SCF, where they were losing most likely to Dallas or Edmonton.

Why is that when Leafs win, it’s the other team playing badly but when they lose, it’s because they suck. They are a good team. They had a good plan and when they kept to it they played evenly with Florida. When they got away from it, they got smoked
