They are good team, but Florida is better and deeper. I think Leafs overachieved in these playoffs, because they bought in Berube system and defense was great, but it is hard to win with their bottom six.
It is hard to argue that Florida superior team and have a good change to repeat.
They took good Tampa team in 5 and it looks like Carolina will be done in 4, poor Canes, has been destroyed in every facet of the game.

It seemed pretty clear that when Florida put in the effort, the teams were not all that close.

The Leafs were a good team. I would put them top 4 in the league. I don't think they will be better next year.

I think Stolarz going down had a larger effect than just the goaltending, which was mediocre for Woll: he could play the puck, which gave us more opportunities to fend off that forecheck with a quick up.

Completely agree.
Losing stolarz was definitely a hit to the leafs.
I dont think we lose game 3 with stollie in net.
Better at handling the puck and a bigger net presence who didnt take crap.

I thought maybe their speed and the panthers eventually getting tired, the canes could make it a long series. I said after game 1 it was only 1 game and the canes would adjust.
But yikes doesn't look like it, wrong about that.

So apparently Berube tried spreading the core across 3 lines against OTT, but they weren't having any of it, so he went with the original lineup.

It's clear we need to make some changes if the inmates are running the asylum.

Also, we need to play dirtier, Berube needs to be more vocal about penalties/calls in the presser, take the fine, live with it. Maurice wouldn't stop talking about the Rodriguez embellishment call for days after and lo and behold, the Panthers all of sudden had a 2:1 advantage in powerplays.

If that was the case(I have not heard that one) that is part of Shanny culture where these guys were on a pedestal.

I heard Bourne talking about when some of these guys were on the Marlies(He mentioned Nylander/Hyman they we given preferential treatment) Didn't have to talk to media, didn't play 3 in 3's (there were some other things)

So the star treatment even filtered down to the Marlies.

Two other unsubstantiated rumors I heard this week(From a guy that knows a bunch of allums)

1) The team is not actually that close off the ice as they make it seem
2) Reilly has a cocaine problem

Can't say they are true or not.. But it is rumor season.
