With Dvorak and Bjugstad (who would have been solid at that price) gone, who would look to add as the 3C?

I know they cant make a big splash, but I'd like to see them try to help the 1st line. Don't like Zib on the RW with JT.

That's gonna be a good deal for Seattle.

I think he might be the best option. Looking at a bounce back year.

as this cap goes up, 4 mil a year for anyone isnt really a big deal

its like standard cap hit for average defensemen now

The blue line actually shaping up decently. Fox focusing on being a puck mover is an addition all of its own.

I don’t love dealing Miller, but if they can get a first for him (hopefully something else, too) I guess you have to pull the trigger.

I’m glad we didn’t throw 8 million plus at gavrikov. If he can play solid D and improve Fox’s game by doing so I see this as a big win

The L.A. Kings attempting to replace their loss of Gavrikov have signed for backline depth both Cody Ceci 4 years at a $4.5M AAV, and Brian Dumoulin for 3 years at a $4M AAV.

Gavrikov's acquisition is not only a benefit for Adam Fox to return to his offensive contributing potential of the past, but of key for Igor & Quickie to face less high quality shots from the most dangerous center slot area on out to improve their games as well.

No way they could fit Miller and Gavrikov in salary wise. Rumor is Miller wants $6-7 mil on a LT deal, let's see the extension. I wonder if that is the hold up

Oh, I’m taking Gavs over Miller and know he needs to be dealt. I still believe in Key, though. I’m firmly in the camp that the system was an issue for some of these guys the last two years, particularly Miller and Zib.

Of course it is. It’s also the reason Drury jumped at the offer from Carolina. He knew the ridiculous contract Miller looking for, he’s been dealing with that dysfunction for weeks.

I like it. Could understand 6+ years at more $ to keep future years down but gives more flexibility the next 2 seasons.

Anyone know how much space is left?

Right now it says 1.4 mil but that’s with 14 forwards 7 defensemen signed, and that’s not really knowing which forwards actually make the team, etc

For me, the only thing that could make this an even better day, would be to unload Laf.

He’s not worth that contract. Could use that money to bring in 2 north-south forwards to sure up the top six. Bad enough we’re stuck with Zib
