“If one thing is clear following Round One of a (Projected) Perennially Escalating Cap, it is that Vincent Trocheck’s seven-year, $39.375M contract ($5.625M AAV) that still has four years to go has become among the most — if not the most — team-friendly agreement in the league.”

It’s easy to say that now given the rise in the cap, so I discount the comment somewhat, even if mostly true

I’ll be curious to see how Sullivan views the lines. I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries Mika at 2C and builds a 3rd line around Troch. His salary isn’t bad for a 3C anymore, and can drive PP2 and PK. That’s best case scenario, obviously.

Yeah. Fabulous asset management by Drury

Swap out Kandre for Gavrikov, get three solid assets for Kandre.

Don’t care about trading within division. Get the best deal and that’s what he did.

- jimbro83

Yeah how does Gavrikov compare to K'andre?

Eliott Friedman says that Carolina was going to offer sheet Evan Bouchard, and then when he signed, they moved onto K'Andre and were in talks to re-acquire their own 3rd rounder from Utah back when they changed course and made the Rangers trade

but Carolina was definitely on the prowl

Justifies the decision to make the trade with Car. Doubt other offer sheets were coming at that term.

Gonna be an interesting season. Some big changes. Sad to see K' Andre go, had high hopes for him, but he regressed so much the last 2 seasons it made sense.

Missed that Zac Jones signed a 1 year two way deal with Buffalo. Thought for sure he’d get a 2-3 year one way deal, he’s not nearly as bad as people make him out to be.

I think he's poor in his own end, and also has a below average shot that can't get to the net from the point

very good puck mover

Apparently the Rangers went really hard after Tanner Jeannot before the Bruins outbid them and then signed Raddysh

Looks like it will be fairly easy to follow Gonchar’s progress this season

I could see a PTO or 2 this fall. No true centers available that fit the bill as the 3C, which may mean Mika shifts back there.

Gentlemen I hope all are having a fantastic summer thus far. I am extremely confident that the Rangers are 1000% getting ready to make a run at Mcdavid and are monitoring that situation extremely closely. They are now pretty loaded with assets if needed. Just throwing it out there. Something in my gut tells me if we enter next season and he’s not signed, he’s not staying.

I wonder what possibly could be appealing about staying in Edmonton his entire career anyway

all the great Oilers stars wanted to leave at some point, bigger market, not as cold

I'm not saying he's gotta be a Ranger but I;m sure the NHL without saying it would like to see him in better market for league visibility

Justin Dowling? Oooof! Better hope it’s an AHL depth signing as he’s not an NHL’er unless you’re as desperate as we were last year for a breathing body
