Oilers has similar problem as the Leafs, all money spent on a few good players, who could be shut down by good opposition checkers.
Then the depth takes over. Florida had 4 very good lines and this is too much for any other team. It is hard to achieve, especially for Canadian teams.

very much agree. Florida spent peanuts on their 4th line, but the 3rd which killed every series was what made a difference.

once the top guns get shut down or evenly matched to nullify them, the depth took over for sure.

Leafs have weak 3rd line and suspect 2nd line. both need a lot of rebuilding

Leafs have to pay mitch 14 while Florida get Barkov 10 and kuchuk 9.5... just looney
