They can't attract players of such level for the same money.

Willy overpaid and if he continues to show the same defense it will not end well for him in Toronto under Berube.
Marner is more complete player, but to pay to winger 14+ M is crazy.
The Leafs have to find the way to balance the roster, which I don't believe is possible, no matter who the general manager is or will be.
The Oilers had two the best players in the World and you see how it ended.
The team must have at least 3 very good lines to compete for Cup.

on ice goals 11-8 and 10-8 in almost the same 200mins in the playoffs.

Goal scoring and offence are great in the regular season.

But the playoffs are all about goaltending, physical dominance and defence.
