Based on the ineptitude of Ownership and Management, I wouldn't put it past them. The fact they think other teams were/are willing to give us a top 2 center and not have to part with Willander/D-Petey/Lekker or a 1st rd pick is laughable.

But... if this off-season doesn't go well, and they start to slump at the beginning on the year... I could see the noise around Hughes get to the point that he actually wants out.

It's been noted that that's something management has really been active about: getting players who want to play here. Kane wanted to come back. Byram has interest to play here. Demko, Garland both have said how much they want to stay.

Hopefully the Canucks can just trade for Bedard and Celebrini and then they'll be all set!
