ok. point taken. the way I see it three things could happen. the pick lives up to the hype and is better than kessel, the pick is about the same as kessel, or the pick is a bust ( or not as good as kessel). so if the pick is a bust then toronto still doesn't win unless the other two picks are as well. also the pick is on an entry level salary. and kessel is making 5 mil. it will be at least 2 or three years before toronto will contend for anything IMO. anyhow roger i don't want to rehash this argument, we'll know in time. my original point i was trying to make was every team has overpaid players. i'm not as familiar with TO's roster as you guys but i'm sure they have a few as well.

Your post may have been a bit more true to forum had it been posted at the beginning of next season. The teams appears to have turned the corner, and reading these two articles should bode well for leaf fans.

You have to admit that the younger version of the Leafs are entertaining and something that you can get enthusiastic about. I have said for a long time that Leaf fans would be patient with a proper rebuilding venture. Now if we only had a high draft choice.

The projections are based on past play (at that time 24 days ago), and if the leafs were to have continued to play at that rate (points percentage) their "chances" would have remained high.

But with Ten losses and one win during those 24 days, their playoff chances naturally plummeted.
