You definitely don’t want Ryan Martin |

Agreed on the list, pretty underwhelming. FSG has made some good manager hires within their other teams. Hope they do the diligence, but I'd bet their main target hasnt been interviewed yet. Even if its someone off the board that isnt Dubas or Tulsky. |

What could have been an out of the box interesting candidate will not be in play. The Blackhawks denied the Penguins permission to speak to Jeff Greenberg. - Ryan_Wilson
But don't we have to hate everything associated with the Blackhawks until the end of time? |

and neither was anyone currently in the Blackhawks organization. All 3 of those guys got fired plus no way they still have any players from 2010 with Toews leaving, right?
Which just makes the butthurt over this draft pick a little crazy. I hate that Chicago got it because of their salary cap shenanigans and the fact they tanked their second part of the season.
This isnt directed at you, more of an observation. |

Neither were any of the current players or management, but RW still has an issue with them being allowed to win the draft lottery because of it. |

No RW could never be a woke hypocrite that picks and chooses when things are good or bad depending on what narrative they support. |

clearly you do not know much about Darche. He would be a very good pickup. He has moved up the Tampa food chain as he has held several diff roles over the years |

If the Flyers can hire Keith Jones ....Jay Caufield is available to be the Pens President and Rob deadbeat King is also available Both have no qualifying attributes so they could be prime targets Colby is also in the hunt |

If you want a similar Jones/Briere pairing, I'd say it's Robert Lang for POHO and Kovalev for GM. |

Im just trying to visualize this Flyers-Keith Jones hire. It'd be like if Lemieux called his buddy Bob Errey to convince him to come off of the Penguins broadcast (big win for us) and join the front office in a role he's never had a days of experience in.
I guess from the Flyers perspective, he is a fan of the team, understands the city/fanbase, and has been critical of the Flyers before. Other than that, I dont see how this move works. I know they've struggled, but for an organization that size, I'm sure they had a lot of qualified candidates interested in the job |

Would you want to take over the tire fire that Chuck Fletcher left behind, knowing that you and John Tortarella would have equal input to the team roster construction? I don't think many "qualified" people would want that.
I don't like the hire but, as a wild card, I guess we'll see how this roller coaster goes. They've pretty much reached rock bottom, with no way up in sight, so I guess it can't hurt to try. |

Flames not letting Treliving talk to any teams, probably because of the draft. He’ll be the next GM of the Penguins. |

Is it any worse then the Penguins job where you can't possibly meet fan and ownership expectations and also have nothing to speak of to start a rebuild unless you're really excited about Owen Pickering? This next guy is screwed before he's hired. |

Meh, Pens fans are pretty tame and will accept just about anything, even if they are delusional. Ownership seems pretty absent and is probably more interested in the land/property development aspect, anyway. There are probably potential GMs out there who might like/prefer a clean slate to work with. Don't have to worry about a previous regime's prospects if most of them end up washing out. Hopefully ownership isn't delusional, also, and gives the new GM wide latitude to make some hard decisions and time to see the process play out. |

I think you underestimate how big of a deal getting a GM of any major sports team is to the people who want and hope to land these jobs. The Pens have a fairly storied franchise and some all time greats still on the roster. Also, being the GM of a smaller market team like Pittsburgh is like a walk in the park in terms of media and fan treatment than say somewhere like Toronto. Even the players talk about how laid back and out of the limelight it is playing in Pittsburgh. They can go to the mall, or grocery store, without being swarmed or hounded. Kyle Dubas probably can't even get a tank of gas at a station without being bothered and ridiculed. |

You're a Pens fan, correct?
I haven't really seen an abundance of all that much being accepted around here since 2018 haha. However, I will say most around here accept where the Pens are and that their true contender status window is closed and has been for some time.
Then there's the Pens social media pages....next to zero acceptance of anything to be found there in the comments hahah. So these delusional fans you speak of, they most be friends and family of yours? |

I like Errey on the broadcast. He’s a fan of hockey and doesn’t go all homer about everything. He and Caulfield calling out the team for hiding behind the “just play” mantra is refreshing. |

This is one of the times you didn't mean to be funny but I'm legit laughing hahaha...it's fvcking hilarious you're the only person I've ever seen on these message boards that likes Errey and thinks he's good.
The guy is as dumb as a bag or rocks, man, and if he isn't being a total homer to the Pens its because he is to the team they're playing. We were calling him out on this numerous times this past season.

Yeah the pens get severely out played and pushed around and Errey says the Pens are getting severely outplayed and pushed around. It’s his job to talk about what’s happening on the ice from an ex NHL’rs perspective. That’s what he does. |

He fvcking sucks.
How many times was he being a total f'n homer for the Pens this past season about them definitely winning a game then as soon as he started saying it they start getting scored on and end up losing the game. 15 to 20 times out of 82 games just this past season alone. Try and keep in mind I watch pretty much every game, Boxscore Billy. Missed 4 in a row when I was in Florida in November, thats about it besides a period here or there. |

So you’re blaming him for the Pens poopting the bed on the 3rd? Or did he actually say something like, The Pens should have this in the bag if they can play smart, and the Pens did the exact opposite of play smart? Pat yourself on the back also for being capable of constantly being on the couch? Funny statement there. |
