Hains: In Hainsight: Time to Put Down the Dog
Last night, Tempe voters overwhelmingly voted against the $2.1 billion Tempe Entertainment District project which would have included a new arena for the Coyotes, perhaps it’s time to put the dog down isn’t it Mr. Bettman? |

I have the feeling Buttman will do everything in his power to keep them in Arizona, it's a huge joke that he simply doesn't want to stop, ever. |

Buttman represents the owners. He's their guy. If owners want the team out of there, they will be out of there. |

pretty sure the owners are happy as long as they're getting their share, I don't think the decision will come from them. |

The big question if the Yotes go to Quebec is which Eastern team goes out West. The only real possibilities are Detroit, Columbus or Toronto and I can’t see any of those franchises being happy with that.
Sadly, unless a team in the East ends up relocating, I just don’t see Quebec getting another NHL franchise. Best bet is that the Coyotes move to Houston or KC. Dark horse would be Salt Lake City. |

then why are we even talking about atlanta ? Not only it would be a third time for them, but they are in the East as well as Quebec.
+, the league says they want more rivalries. Quebec-Montreal was not that far from Boston-Montreal. |

I agree.
They will stay in Arizona for at least a few more years, mostly because they do not want to waste a market that could bring in mega money with any future potential expansion plans (enough teams already, but money talks).
I do not see a team back in Quebec unless there are 2 more expansion teams come and the move of the Arizona franchise.

Options the league is exploring for the Coyotes includes this coming season. Chance the #Yotes have already played their final game in the desert. #NHL

just move them to hell. it's as south a location as they can get and they'll have more fans (air conditioners are not allowed in hell). |

that's the part I never understood, that organization has always been poop, I don't understand how they could be this huge money pot... I think the decision of having a team there had to do with TV deals or whatever, but still, in the end it just makes the league look silly. teams in the LHJMQ have better facilities and attendances for (frank)'s sake.

Big TV market, and while maybe not the ratings in that market they sell it as an opportunity growth, helps with TV deals.

I'd be surprised if they do something for the 2023-24 season, but who knows.
Maybe they have something up their sleeves and plan for the no vote. |

whatever, I'm sure it's somehow logical financially but to me it's just a bullpoop situation that doesn't make any sense. |
