RF has been pretty steady consistent. Team is looking good. They wont surprise teams like last year BUT if Gru can be playoff Gru I think overall they will be right smack in the mix on things here.
I doubt there will be a big swing on a major shake up type trade unless Dunn really wants way too much. Odds are it gets done though.
The Dreidger question is a big one. Gru - D'A ccord seem to be the desired go to pairing so finding a means to move him out is the key there. Curious to see if they can move that one with the tight flat cap or have to ride it out to start.
A bit worried about the Dunn deal. He benefited a lot with all the PP time he saw last year, and his dip in the playoffs is concerning. Perhaps it was usage related, but if they’re paying for a point producing D and don’t get the points then you end up with an OEL type player…

Think Dunn will be ok. Only real move would be if you cant sign him reasonably, then target a similar type. Thing there then would be cost of acquisition on top of salary.

I think RF will get it done and should be fine. - Roadrunner75
Was listening to the Emerald City guys this morning. Posed a question to fans - would you consider allowing Dunn to go to arbitration and then choose two years. He’s likely to get somewhere between $7-$9m from an arbitration award, which the team can live with. He’d be a UFA at the end of the contract but you could always extend him if he has a good year this season.

Its an interesting idea. If it comes to that then ride out the year try and see how it goes. Have to think that would really motivate Dunn too. MIGHT cost a bit more that way but if too high you can then work on replacing in the offseason.
Added bonus is Schultz is ufa then and Evans should be pushing in on the cheap there too.

Worst case scenario is something like PK Subban in Montreal, best case he has another monster season and takes a step forward and get paid like one of the top defenders in the game.

At least Dunn is not a detractor to the team like PK and we have a tight knit locker room and not cliques. No question about Dunn's work ethic there too.
Hopefully they get it done here soon. Not a whole lot of changes really with the roster, though a few new faces so we should see some good continuity on the ice. Two big things remain really, dealing with Dreidger and getting Dunn signed.
I think they get Dunn locked up. Dreidger I think is more troublesome and possibly ends up in Coachella buried for the season at this point.
