Had a feeling Chiasson wasn't going to stick around. I have a feeling Heinen will get a contract.

Lohrei and Poitras haven't looked out of place. Got an outside chance for a surprise to start the year. Next game should be a fun one to watch.

Really liked Lohrei's game thus far. Not without mistakes but certainly a very good showing particularly the nearly 30 minutes against the Sabers. Hate that Poitras' only option is OHL or Boston (that really needs to be fixed!). Would really like to see the kid get some time to work on his game (defense and faceoffs) in the AHL and be available for call up.

Not been impressed with Lysell thus far. I said it before...reminds me of Kase. He really needs to have a good showing tonight...hope he changes my mind.

Agreed on Poitras. Really is a shame he cant play in the AHL. There is a chance he will surprise and make the roster, but odds are low given the bodies at camp.

Lysell has been an enigma. You can see the speed and stickhandling are there, but he hasnt done anything with it to stand out. Almost as if he is playing to avoid the hit. I hope he doesnt end up like Kase. Dont need any more passengers. Hopefully he can stay healthy and have a good hear in the AHL to improve.

Jackson Edward was returned to the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.

Damn, quite a demotion from the Bruins announcer to the OHL.

Yes I know it's "Edward" not "Edwards" but it's Monday, give me a break.

A demotion for the announcer, but would be an improvement for the fans listening to games.

Speaking of Jack Edwards. We here in Philly were watching the Bruins broadcast against the Flyers. Is he ok? He sounded slow and a bit slurry at times. What is the scuttlebutt, has he had a stroke?

Pretty big red flag when Lysell went and played in the Juniors tournament. All he had to show for it was an ejection.

We will see I guess. He is about one more hampering injury away from me just writing him off.

You're not the first person to ask this.

Pretty sure he has been off for a long while now. Well, more off than he normally is.

Lysell showed me nothing last night. Send him to Providence to finish growing up.

On the other hand, Poitras needs to stay...at least for 9 games. Night and day at the dot vs. the previous game. He's too skilled to be down on the 4th line... Try him between Marchy and JD and put Coyle back where he is best suited on the 3rd line.

Not impressed with Lysell. This kid doesn't look like he can play in the league. Another Oskar Steen.

So far the standouts for have been Lohrei, Beecher and Poitras.

This.

At this point, I am ok with a few of the rookies learning on the job in the NHL. There will be some pains, but I wouldn't mind seeing the opening night roster look something like this.

Marchand - Poitras - Debrusk
JVR/Heinen - Zacha - Pasta
JVR/Heinen - Coyle - Geekie
Lucic - Beecher - Lauko
Greer/Boqvist/Brown

Lindholm/Lohrei - McAvoy
Lindholm/Lohrei - Carlo
Forbort - Shats
Mitchell/Walsh/whoeverthe(frank)

Ullmark
Swayman

You can trade Gryz and Zboril now. Whoever will take them.

It would be nice if they could make it happen and if Poitras continues his play. Kid looks hungry out there.

Agreed, and so does Lohrei. Both very high hockey IQ and appear very driven and talented.

Although I love Gryz, he is expendable but I would be reluctant to get rid of Zboril...he's a good 7th who can play both sides and is fairly cheap.

Maybe. I dont think they will notice Zborils absence. If there is a deal in place for a 1 or 2C and zboril is a small sweetener in the deal, I wouldn't say no. Bring on the new blood!

I would have no problem with that scenario. I'm just saying don't trade him just for cap purposes. That being said, I don't have a feel for the abilities of any of the multitude of AHL defensemen on the training camp roster to play both sides and act as the 7th.

At this point you're going to get more of a raw product in Lohrei than Gryz, but much more upside. I expect growing pains there, but I think the overall product will be better with Lohrei over Gryz.

As for the 7th D man. We have some AHL plug and play options as well as a couple of options that could play both sides even though capfriendly doesn't list some of them as both. Zboril has been a 7th D for some time now, figured it was time for that dude to get a fresh start somewhere else. No rush to trade him away for nothing, but if he is a piece a team wants as a sweetener than I am game.

Shattenkirk? We only sign him for AHL?

Right now I think Shats is likely to start on the 3rd pairing with Forbort.
