Good analysis, Ben. It's hard to argue with any of your reasoning. While I really like what Vaakinainedn brings to the blue line, Anaheim has a ton of defensemen coming to the team. Tristan Luneau, Noah Warren, Tyson Hinds, and whoever the Ducks draft with the 3rd pick. I have a feeling someone else is going to be moved pretty soon.

With our training, staff and medical personnel not being able to keep anybody healthy… I see quite a few of these guys being resigned…

Jones and Bo no…

I would love to see - Isac, LaCombe and Oil 1st to Leafs for Marner -

Or Isac & Oil 1st to Canes for Necas - 😃😃😃😃

Watch Lindstrom to be a Duck at 3… esp if he impresses health wise -

Thank you! Yeah, there could be a bit of a logjam on the blue line pretty soon.

Necas would be a great fit with an extension in place, I think it's just a little tough to judge what Carolina would want. I think they're probably fine on depth centers, and a late first rounder might not be enough.

I’m even open to Vaaks or LaCombe - Oil 1st and our 2nd … for Necas -

Necas yes!
Marner no!
I think it's because we have a plethora of cap space and a crap-load of young talent, there are a lot of Leafs bloggers who think Marner to the Ducks is a good idea. Uh, no it's not. Marner is a decent player who is vastly over-paid and is going to want even more $$$ in his next contract. Necas on the other hand, is vastly underpaid, even though he's still an RFA. The only hiccup is Marty is a center and Anaheim has too many right now. I would think Zegras would have to go in order to pry Necas from Carolina. I'd do it, though, even though I love Trevor.

Z is the one guy along with Cutter & Leo, I wouldn’t trade from the F group for him…
Mason Yes / Terry Yes

From the D - Minty - Baby Z and Luneau would be off limits -

Anyone else on the roster … let’s get it done-

Issac Lundenstrom and Jackson Lacomb are probably resigned. The rest are 50/50 chance of being resigned. Its just that their are only so many roster spots. And the Ducks need more players on the team that can execute at a pro level.

A good example of this is Sam Steel. If you watch Steel he's turned himself into a useful player. But not by raising his point production. But by doing all the other things that can help a team. Steel got better at Forechecking, Defense, Zone entries, and moving without the puck. It's just maximizing what skills you got. And some of these young Ducks players haven't done that. Jones, Leason, Vakenanen have talent but haven't used all of it to succeed. And Max Comtois had the same problem too. They have talent but haven't made the most of it. Like winning face offs, board work, blocking shots, screening goalies, defense, ect. These are things they need to do to get minutes in the NHL.

To me the the interesting one Is Bo Groulx. He gets it. But he's still a bottom 6 foward. But I would resign him. Just because I think that's what you want from a bottom 6 forward. Just a guy that does all the little things.

Mitch Marner would be the best player ever to wear a Ducks jersey that didn’t wear 8 or 9

There definitely could be some who would think that… I would like to see it .. if the cost wasn’t prohibitive-

C'mon! The dude is making $10 mil a year right now! Do you think he's going to take a pay cut? Besides, he's too soft. He'd get killed out in the west.

It's just Marner is probably gonna want more than 12 million. It would put the Ducks in the same situation the the Leafs were in when they signed John Taveras. Just wouldn't leave us enough room to sign the younger players.
