Not sure if I missed it or if it wasn't stated but Bill, what is your stance on Konecny? Do you think the FLyers should extend him to a deal that is going to be big in money and long term or do you think the best course is to look to move him in a deal for more picks and possibly a young roster player, preferably a center?

This kind of reminds me back to when Hextall, rumored, wouldn't included Simmonds in a deal for number 1 overall in 2014 to get Ekblad.

What's better for the franchise.

At that time, it might have been better to get that number one defender instead of keeping Simmonds.

Does Ellis interest Tampa at this point? Strictly as an LTIR asset?

At the time and in hindsight he should have made that trade. I liked Simmonds and he was a good player but you make that deal 100% of the time. It was that half measured approach as to why he failed as the GM. It’s the same reason why I want them to use Konecny to move up this year.

Actually, I think he is mocking MJL by making a minor alteration and yet getting worked up about it. The use of the word ... "absolutely" is the giveaway.

TK is a tailor made asset to trade. Particularly for a “rebuilding” team that lacks elite talent, especially at the center position.

It’s a layup that is grounds for dismissal (reason: incompetence) if missed.

Makes it even more entertaining that the Flyers are already laying the groundwork for a mega extension. Probably didn’t even consider trading TK!
