i doubt they trade Kurachev, Bedard's only viable option unless they have a big scorer signed (tampering) to offset.
I tearfully regret the past hour I spent answering on the last blog... |

Maybe take skinners contract of Buffalo hands to free up cap to get player they want in free agency or trade. Skinner the 11th pick for either fc or a 3rd round pick. Or something along those lines. These also questions not just wiz but the whole board. |

Wiz your picks at 2 18 34 and 50 if your the gm of the Blackhawks? Free agency signings and young players to trade for that ake sense fr the Hawks. I know it's a lot t think about. |

They are there with me taking Lindstrom as the outlier at #2:
https://www.lines.com/nhl/drafts
I. could see a Cam Robinson Demidov going #2 and that locks mw into a defender in the second, but doesn't threathen my selection of a second forward at #18.
and if theyget to choose say forward like Emil Hemming in the early second, so sure I take a RD at #50 since there should be b at least four possible RD candidate in the wings.... |

Guentzel will be a very risky UFA for Chicago. He'll likely be on decline when the team is ascending. |

Yeah, but he still feels a current need...to take the $ to play with Bedard.
That becomes the question for him:
Win now with sign for less $ to attempt to advance in the playoffs or sign for more and hopefully give the Chicago team more firepower and the kid feels they "did something."
There's no risk to his addition bankqrupting the cap space and his graceful decline will be in time for the guy they draft if 2025, 2026 etc.

If the haws can convince him on short term contract like 3 years 10 to 11 million per year to come to the Blackhawks anything beyond that then past and move on to another free agent. DeBrusk pesce Joshua domi. I still think the best move is going trade route for 25 and younger player in a trade in which that player is blocked cannot be resigned or has fallen out of favorvin that organization or past up by other prospects. |

Particularly if you can overpay and get either no NTC whatsoever, or I guess probably a modified NTC (where you give the player more control).
Probably easier to do than it might be to settle on a salary figure that could be palatable to trading partners to absorb (when considering retention). I think it is a bit more doable, than worrying overly much about short-circuiting future development. Same goes for anyone - this isn't just a Guentzel specific issue, but the Hawks could be used to pump up a payday, and still allow for movement to someplace more competitive if the opportunity presents itself later on. |

On this day back in 2013. Patrick Kane sends the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup Finals. I was there when Toews sent a sweet pass to Kaner for a 1 timer. |

Cap set at 88M next year, a 4.5M increase. Betman sees similar increases going forward and could be 97M in two years when the CBA expires. Coincidentally that's when Bedard's, Nazar's and Korchinski’s ELCs are up. |

The unstoppable Edmonton offense was stopable after all. For one Stanley Cup game. And for more games too in this Cup final?
Sure hope so |

Maybe a better way to write this story more objectively might be to go with the tack --- this is the series where we see what McDavid is made of.
There is an expectation that superstar players will rise to the occasion. Will it happen? |

There is more than 1 superstar player in this series. Barkov is one. Great player.
Gretzky recalled not scoring a goal going head to head against Bryan Trottier in their first series vs the Islanders. Barkov is a huge challenge for both McDavid and Draisaitl. And even with that Bobrovsky saved the Panther's butts tonight. |

Considering Barkov never came with the draft hype that McDavid did - no one since Crosby has...
Also- Barkov, was there last season -this being McJesus' first time... what does he do with it.
But granted, lots of superstars sure. No argument.
Edited: well I see that the Hawks' site has corrected things to specify that they employ a Darren Pang as opposed to a Darren Peng (which must have been worrying to old number 40 ... :D ) |

How about that Bobrowski
You can call me Bob
Edmonton shooters call him a big Russian Bear between the posts |

Doesn't matter ---- it's all about McJesus and the hype around him when he was drafted as being off the chart.
Bob never had that much attention either - but I know that you know that. Please don't act like people new to hockey - we got that ahead of us if the rebuild goes where they want it to end up at -even if some years off still.
I still am dealing with that influx of band-wagoners from the last decade. Don't channel them :D

Mr Richochet
When I see a prospect seemingly finally break through and I offer Broberg as a case in.point,
You hope he continues or excels at a higher level next season
You hope after enough trial and tribulations
Maybe Phillips will arrive
And just to be sure, not going to say Broberg is oh so good,
But he has learned how to play well enough to say in the lineup
His strengths fit well for what the Oilers need |

If the oilers can maintain this type of pressure then i think they will win it. |

Idk, flat is fair though I thought they were outplayed for large stretches and rode some opportunistic scoring along with Bob for the win.

Yeah I was curious if the Ducks and next in line took to dinner....
It is not like the hawks have to cameoflaged their intentions from the team ahead of them b/c the already know where that player is earmarked...moo...
Levshunov is different than most others in the draft b/c he is physcially developed, and not a guy you wait long to road test.

At one point last night in one of his carries, the bench yelled go and he skated the puck so fast on the entry as he passed it on the zone entry and flew 5 feet offside.
Maybe Phillips will arrive - jhawk59
A reach to compare hockey gifts between the two...but the logjam on both club's backlines is comparable.
But he has learned how to play well enough to say in the lineup

Oil; has to win for anyone to see him as any answer...
