Much better to sign these guys than old vets to long term contracts above league minimum. The one potential issue is contract slots. But how this team is rebuilding (not picking super low), this is a fine strategy for trying to get ahead.

Bill what LHV vets will not be returning that you know of? Will guys like Millman and Wilde be cut loose as well?

Bill,

Do you sense a "major" Flyers trade coming at the draft?

Both players are perfect torts guys, big can skate and couldn't score if there life depended on it. 100% both see ice time with the Flyers next year.

Hell lets make a line with these two and ND, and our 4th line is set for next year.

Without moving up in the draft are any of the potential centers at our pick with first line center material?

Flyers are a smaller team, a couple players that can impose some size isn't the worst idea.

I know, one is 28. But at least no assets were used and they make league minimum?im trying to stay positive.

Both might be AHL bound anyways. Hopefully they can add some reclamation projects or find a Diamond in rough with these types of signings.

Catton or Helenius could be but aren’t guarantees.

Would love catton but I doubt the cards fall in our favor that well though two years in a row cards fell nice for the eagles so….

Agreed the Flyers ARE a small team the can definitely use some talented players but size matters too specially in the playoffs. Unless they just want a team to do well in the regular season to appease some fans. Building a team for a long playoff run is different than building a team for the regular season. I’m willing to have the patience for the playoff team success and that type of team needs talent, size, depth, good AND leadership.

Talent is important but so are all of the other pieces.

They need another good draft and to keep developing those players hopefully Sharpe, LaClaire and Shaw do a good job for years to come.

What are the odds of the Flyers trading up, trading down or staying put at the draft?

Or make a significant trade?

It's an indication that they don't project any of their current AHL'ers to make much of an impact so they went back to the Raffl playbook.

They also probably hope one of these guys will be able to play net front on the PP.

kind of insane that he's a top trade target when we have no centers means we need catton or helenius

Big grinders -- hell of a way to build a team based on speed and attacking

Is there anyone who is in charge, I include the BSB alumni who have a powerful say in how the team is constructed/operates watching the SCF?

My best guess is they are at their cottages or golfing in Florida - or better yet waiting on how to re=tool from this year's cup winner which will be entirely different from the model of the Golden Knights that poho kj talked about last summer

always chasing - letting coaches dictate the roster and settling for asses in the seats - it is The New Era Of Orange

Big or small, the entire organization lacks skilled players. The Flyers have a double whammy as they are small and not skilled. These tweeners are big but not skilled. Its typical Flyers. The more we go the more Im amazed they drafted Michkov.

Everything else they have is middle/bottom six forwards and 2nd/3rd pair dmen. Both on the team and in the prospect pool. They are not close to contending. They will try to buy their way in to contention. They may get a window if they do but as always it will be artificially short. I predict we waste the best years of Michkov's career.
