Very interesting. I’m curious if bruins fans would’ve been up for trading Ulmark to the Kings for Pierre-Luc Dubois. Ulmark statistically is a much better goalie than Kuemper. I’m sure Kings would’ve done that deal. Bruins fans? |

Ullmark waived his NTC? I thought he was blocking the teams far from the east coast and OTT would not have been blocked. |

No on PLD. Bruins need a #1 center. PLD has proven time and time again he cannot fill that roll and he is inherently lazy. Hard pass |

Best UFA centre option available is Elias Lindholm. He is an outstanding defensive player and well suited to the Boston tradition of great team D. My guess is that his ask is going to be in the range of $8.5 to $9.0m on the cap.
Boston still has to do a bit more shaving on cap space to be in on the bidding. I assume the rush on dealing Ullmark is getting themselves into position by 1 July to make a strong UFA bid.

Boston has plenty of space to be in on the bidding. I expect they will be amongst the top bidders for him. They will probably also be in on Stephenson, Monahan and a bunch of other centers as backups. |

Sounds like he is going to get 6+. It doesnt sound like its going to be in Boston.
We may finally be done with Sweeney's 2015 first round draft picks. |

I mean its all speculation. Heard that was around where his ask was. He will be testing the market and likely finding a new home unless something develops in the next few days. |

Dean Letourneau is a big boy and going to BC so i wouldn’t be shocked. 6 foot 7! Tage 2.0?? - Mahewman
Satan is the son of Miro Satan and is just as big and skilled. Letourneau might use his weight more, but I imagine if either one could turn into a tage Thompson that would be a win for the bruins.
If both do, even bigger bonus. But both are likely 2-3 year projects at minimum by my estimate. Still pretty raw on skill. Programs like BC will help |

I didn’t click on the 2nd until now. Definitely down for a Miro Satan junior 😂

Why do I get the feeling this off-season is not going to go anywhere near as well as I would like. I hope I'm wrong but this first real move doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling... |

For me this will be a telling off season. Boston has largely moved on from the 2011 core other than Marchy. Sweeney has cap space now. I guess we get to see how he builds his team around the new "core". All he has had to do up to this point is support the old core.
His trades have gotten better since he first took over. However, he had a good goaltending asset to trade and poop the bed. Not a great start. How he drafts will be telling. Free agency even more so. Probably best to set your expectations in the basement.
I think we will either see Sweeney thrive here and put together a competent new core that can compete, or his biggest weakness will be exposed in that his and Neely's vision of the team isnt actually one that can win a championship around a core that they build themselves. |

they already traded for a center, taking care of a big need.

Yeah I don't understand trading for a lesser version of John Beecher unless they think he is going to somehow jump to the top 6.
I have to think Korpisalo has another shoe to drop. Either move him at the draft to try and a get 2nds or 3rds or Goalie Bob works his magic, gets him back on his game and move him at the TDL.
