Did anyone ask Jackson what specific decisions Bowman made after 2015 that indicated he was a capable GM worthy of absorbing negative media scrutiny over? Remove the side show allegations, Bowman is still a nepo baby with a long recent history of failed front office decisions. Holland was great many years ago too. I think he ended up being a mediocre at best as GM for EDM. I just don't understand how Bowman is the most qualified particularly with the baggage. |

Is Bettman taking any heat for this? He’s a mercenary and a lemming for the owners. Apparently, the owners don’t want the death penalty for any management person caught up in an event like this. The owners support this.
Bettman doesn’t care about Beach or any victims of this. He only cares about image and fallout. Now he and the owners have decided enough time has passed. Bettman doesn’t care about CTE. His concern is about potential lawsuits.
Say what you want about Pride. Bettman virtue signaled that into existence without weighing consequences. It was emotional not cerebral.
The NHL has poor leadership and Bettman should be past his expiration date.

Good work, Sean.
One day later and it's still a disgusting move that blemishes both the Oilers and the NHL.
I feel sorry for all the victims who have to re-live the vile sexual assaults committed by Aldrich because of this hiring and the subsequent media frenzy. |

interesting:
you post this "Even if Stan Bowman, who was complicit in the Kyle Beach sexual assault and assaults of a high school and university student was not directly called, I find it incredibly naïve when people say it isn't his responsibility to know where Aldrich was going"
Yesterday you posted an internet lie but that was ok?? did you do your job before posting that lie?????

I reported something I believed to be true. Upon realizing it was not, I have posted this correction. Nobody is perfect, things get missed. |

Sean you have chosen to blog about and claim to be knowledgeable about a sports team yet you continue to slander the majority of the decisions they make because of your personal bias. You indicate that if we don't like your opinion we should not read your blogger. My question is WHO entitled you to write and slander a team that I as an Oiler fan have supported for twice as long as you have been alive. I certainly did not give you the right to write about the team and include non-factual information just to support your own personal cause. Bowman has history like everyone in this world has and he will have to recover from that history, but so do you. You have written so many blogs using your personal opinion about the Oilers without ensuring factual information. Are you prepared to step down from the role as Oiler blogger in the same manner as you indicate Bowman because of your issues? I think its time hockeybuzz find a new blogger for the Oilers. |

Cmon now. A journalist made a mistake not checking his sources. The comments could be construed as libel. Maybe some readers even cancelled their season tickets after reading that false info.
But he acknowledged that mistake. Publicly. And is looking to make amends. He deserves another chance. Or should he be cancelled as a writer forever and find a new line of work?

Calling him a journalist is stretching the point some. His anger clouds his ability to be unbiased and factual. In the world of real journalism that usually eliminates with the ability to be employed. If the anger and personal bias is contained then the blog is a reasonable read. |

Wow this is what you take from all this ? It’s absolutely incredible that you are ignoring the fact that your “team” continues to hire clowns with inexcusable pasts in the name of winning!
Yet you give this guy crap for a minor mistake but yet defend a man that allowed a predator to take victims in a position of power ? You my friend need to get your priorities straight cause if the victim was a friend or family member of yours your stance would be drastically different, in no way on earth is what he did a mistake that’s forgivable in any way shape or form !!! When it comes to sexual predators and those who are complicit in their actions don’t deserve to breath never mind make millions !!!!!!!! |

You literally have no clue how much Bowman was involved but hey guilt by association hey? Typical Flames fan deflecting all your teams inadequacies on to the Oilers lol. Admirable. Yeah winning sucks and getting back to the cup finals should take a step back to public optics for sure.

It’s Mrs McDavid, take it with a grain of salt. Your personal opinion is what keeps us coming back to read. Well done! I’d like to see her write a 3 paragraph blog, never going to happen. Keep up the good work. |

I had to reread Hockey’s post again. He never mentioned Kane or Perry yet you jump to that conclusion. Did I misread this post? |

I never said names but if you want names how about mctavish and kassian ? At least mctavish did time but no one else after what he did would have been given a chance like that and that loser kassian trying to throw a young girl into the fire to avoid consequences is really sad but you beat your own drum oil clown this has nothing to do with flames or any other team except the fact the oilers put winning over decency over and over it’s really sad |

K-man still lives but never seems to visit the Oiler site except provide nonsense. The Oilers are not afraid to give individuals as chance to rehabilitate their lives after making mistakes. I'm sure if I researched the Flames in the past I would find some questionable activities, but that would mean I care about the Flames loser organization and I don't. All of those players names you toss around have been very successful and have restored their lives after being given a chance by the Oiler organization. Will that happen with Bowman, its too early to tell but at least he is being given a chance to correct his error in judgement. He did not commit the crime and was not complicit as Sean interprets because he did not help the Chicago employee commit the assault if there really was an assault. He was given the instructions not to deal with which is an inappropriate but not a crime. He now has to demonstrate that he will not respond in a similar in the future and will be given that opportunity with another organization. |

Not only does K-man show up but his alter-ego TurdFerguson does and sends this message to my private email. You’re truly one of the dumbest, most hypocritical idiots I’ve ever encountered in my life. K-man you do that again and I will be filling a charge with hockeybuzz and have you banned. So dissapeer |
