Kent Hughes has shown us that the “trading is hard” mantra from certain NHL GM’s is somewhat overblown.

"certain NHL GMs", like we had no idea who you could possibly be referring to..

I think you are right Hugo. Hughes will prefer to send kids to Laval, waiting for the right deal to present itself. he won't lose players for nothing.
good blog again.

It's the predictable outcome.

But if Hutson outplays everyone in camp, I hope he still sticks around and we end up trading a player for make room, even if it wouldn't be maximizing it's value.

agreed, and besides at some point the value also resides in the chances given to the team's best players and the potential success they'll bring with them.

I don't know about zero.... but certainly not as high as it once was in Barron's or Harris's cases.

As you said, there are 2 spots (one in the top 6 D and the other as a 7th D) available. I can't see how Mailloux and Reinbacher make the jump without forcing a trade and that's on the right side where they need help

Baron and the Sheriff are not going down (not waiver exempt).

so 3 of Hutson, Struble, Mailloux, Reinbacher and Engstrom are going down to Laval

But still quite young... a team lacking depth could certainly be interested as they both proved they can somewhat hold their own in the NHL already, especially Harris.

Barron needs a strong camp and start as a regular... otherwise I think Mailloux or Reinbacher pushes him out.
