Well Colorado can't keep anything out of their net, so now would be a good time for the Isles to put up a bunch of goals. 14GA in the first two games for COL, including 6 in a loss to a terrible CBJ team.

Nelson’s first goal was beautiful.

Did they finally fix the issues with this site? This is twice in a row I’ve been able to post now.

At least we got the empty netter out of the way early this season.

Great bounce back game. More importantly Sorokin was great.

Yep. They needed that one. Feels weird to say that on the third game, but 0-2-1 with another road game coming up feels like it would have been a mental roadblock to overcome.

I wonder if Roy will consider splitting up Pelech and Pulock at some point to balance that third pair, as Reilly and Mayfield seem to get out of position and in each other's way quite a bit. Each could probably use a partner that calls the shots and organizes things a little better.

So far, so good with the forwards. Still some learning/growing to do with Tsyplakov, but you can see there's a player in there. Duclair...there are moments where I can see why he's bounced around quite a bit, but if he can keep scoring goals, I'm fine with the tradeoff. Is it crazy to say that Duclair's defensive lapses are more than made up for by Barzal's vast improvement there? We'll see if that lasts, but he was a back-checking machine last night.

I think it was an important win UIF. I would also try breaking up Pelech and Pulock. You do get the frustration with Duclair. Barzal really has improved on defense.

Even more important of a win after giving up a garbage goal a minute in and you’re like “here we go again…”

Yeah, I was questioning my decision to watch a late game after that first goal! It almost felt like it was going to be an Islanders-style collapse when they gave up the early one in the third period, too, but then Sorokin made a big save after that and the Isles marched right back down and got the goal back. Key saves and key goals...hopefully we get a lot more of that this season.

If we get the Sorokin of 2 seasons ago, this is a playoff team barring any major injuries imo. Bottom 6 is a little eh, but our top 6 should cook.

An amazing tribute the Blue Jackets gave to the family, friends, and fans, in Johnny Hockey's Memory. Very Classy.
