Perron can take all the time he needs. My thoughts to him and his family.

The good. Forsberg looked better.
More good - Giroux has stopped pouting.

The bad. This team still plays wonky fractured defense and will be exposed by really good teams.

Ugly. Ullmark. If he's dealing with something that's kept him out 2 full weeks. It might nag at him all season. Which then begs the question could surgery fix it - and should they just do it now because he's at the beginning of a giant deal?

I felt the Sens played a good game overall. Utah came out hard and as you said, Forsberg was able to weather the storm. You don’t want to rely on goaltending but if this team is going to challenge for the playoffs, goaltending will need to step up when those moments occur. After his terrible game against LA, Forsberg has done a good job of righting the ship. I am not sure if it will continue all year or if I’d still want him as a backup past this season, but nice to see him take on the adversity positively so far.

I like the forward group when healthy. It would be nice if Pinto had some more skill to play with on the 3rd line. Perhaps 10 games or so, him and Greig get some chemistry going or maybe drop Giroux to his line so you have 3 lines with 2 top 6 quality forwards.

Clarity on Ullmark would be great but I guess it’s better that he gets over the injury now than later in the year.

You can tell the coaching is better because Hamonic doesn't look like he's out of place almost every single play.

Great win for the team. Forsy definitely needed a positive win and not just a "we scored more than them" win. Hopefully his confidence from this continues and he plays like he has in the past. Would love to know if Ullmark needs surgery.

While I don’t think the defence is perfect, I think the defence does look better under Green. On the penalty kill, the team is definitely trying to force shots from low percentage areas and giving the goalie a clear view. It looks really sketchy watching but having the goalie see the shot clearly might prove to be favorable? At least it’s a consistent system unlike whatever DJ Smith tried to do during his tenure.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on with that, or why the last blog was unexpectedly deleted. Have been trying to connect with people from HB, but it's been radio silence thus far. Will keep you all posted as I learn more.

Wasn't anything wrong with that post, not sure why it was taken down.

The new post looks "AI". Am I just imagining it?

Also... Why talk about cap space? It's the beginning of the season. Just seems weird to me.

It's not your imagination... go look at some of the historical posts for the Blue Jackets, and it's pretty clear that the majority of this content was not written by a human being.

https://www.hockeybuzz.co...eam/Columbus-Blue-Jackets

Not to mention that the associated "Ottawa Senators" account indicates seems to have been created today, which is pretty suspicious. That said, there appears to be a more legitimate-looking CBJ account using the same name, so who knows what is going on. I've tried to message at least a half-dozen people at HB, but still no response.

Guess the joke is on the biological humans who thought they were having any kind of real exchange of ideas on here... all your base are belong to us.

I found the other blog kind of odd. Saying Klevin will slide in for the injured Zub kind of shows a lack of knowledge about the team. At least he got the Zub injury correct. Did Ek write the blog? ..... no, he couldn't have, there were not enough spelling mistakes and awkwardly worded sentences.

The other blog looks like it is just a Senator news information scrape from the net.

I had the same thought. The arguments didn't really tie together either, felt disjointed. Def felt like a an AI scrape.

Hoping Ottawa can continue its strong play, I think they started 3-2 or 4-2 previous years before, this would be a real chance to show they are starting things off differently.

I just hope they still allow you to post articles. It's too soon for me to judge the "new guy/AI", but I did like the work of the "old/human".

We're not actually using the same account, so the site doesn't appear to be trying to replace one with the other... that might conflict with Asimov's First Law. So far there's radio silence from every one of the messages I sent yesterday to multiple HB contacts. Regardless, I've gone for a more direct approach with commenting on the most recent blog to see if that gets any kind of a response.

Unfortunately, he's only added 1 comment to any of the past 10 Blue Jackets posts, and combined there were only 15 comments from anyone. Apparently not a lot of human fan participation going on in the Buckeye state.

I say we all stick with Sens Writer/khawk. He’s done a marvelous job keeping things engaging with the departure of the previous Sens blogger. This site is basically garbage and it’s shocking it’s still going. I still enjoy commenting and interacting with other fans. I enjoy the layout and conversation on this site more than other sites. There are good folks here. Sucks this site doesn’t recognize that.

If we need to develop a schedule to provide quality content (like last season) and take some of the pressure off khawk, I am happy to help.

Big game tonight. If the Sens can move to 5-2, it’ll give everyone a chance to breathe easy for a couple games. Hopefully Ullmark is back tonight, that whole thing is getting weird.

Appreciate the kind feedback people have been providing. I also have a bit of an update, as I was able to connect with Zak briefly earlier. It sounds like he's just trying to do more on the site, and I'm sure OTT still shows up as having no formal team writer. I'm trying to follow up with someone at HB to get a better sense of their read of the situation, but from the sounds of it there's no intent to replace having both of us providing content.

Further to your point, we have kind of gotten away from providing others with a chance to post blogs on special topics, and I'm happy to bring that back. It was just getting hard to schedule it, but we've had some really interesting content from Guest Writers over the past year and a bit. So if any of the regular posters would like to write a piece just let me know.

*Knock on wood, Drake Batherson is an AMAZING player. 9 points so far on the season not only gives him the team lead, 4 goals past 3 games, he is turning into a legit top line RW

Sens going to start losing many games now/soon as teams now know how to score, since the sens have the most passive defense in sports history teams will shoot from the point to get deflections/tip ins ect and OTT will start losing, who ever is in charge of OTT defense needs to be run out of town asap, he sucks.

OTT cant play D, Vegas player left all alone AGAIN in the slot on PP and its 4-4, OTT is not going to be in the payoff race as long as they do not fire the moron who is in change of the defense, you cannot be that freaking passive on defense and expect to win.

they keep letting, intentionally, the other team shoot, hoping it don't go in, hoping to get the puck and hoping they can get it out and attack, no team can win or make the playoffs playing like that. you can only block so much and it WILL lead to injuries blocking 15-20+ shots a game.

does not mater who the G is, they can only do so much.
