Rumors, again, are like passing gas. They stink and if you push too hard you get crap.
Also: never trust a fart.
A.A. was terrific with the Kings...when he wasn't hurt and when he appeared interested in putting in a shift. Mercurial character. |

With the Hawks, he's kind of lost on the ice. He's very fast but struggles to actually put a shot on net. If he does, it's usually pretty weak. Defensively, he's OK. |

That’s brutal. Hawks ownership, to their credit, is not screwing around and wants to surround their top rookie with good players. I really appreciate you dropping in. I am still amazed to see fans of other teams in the comments. It’s a blessing and very cool |

Athanasiou has always had excellent mobility and finished chances at a good rate. No other real strengths and he can be a liability defensively. CHI is deploying him in a defensive role so no surprise it is going poorly. Not that I think he's a great player to begin with, but certainly not playing to his strengths. |

AA, have fun at Rockford!
Nic Deslauriers is available for a trade, for those that want a tough guy on the 4th line. He has another season after this one remaining on his contract at a cap hit of $1.75 million.
Just a thought:
Reeves has another season after this one remaining on his contract at a cap hit of $1.35 million. The Lafs have to cut some salary soon....... so how about:
Bergers for Nic Robertson and Reeves
Bergers is even 50K cheaper than Nic, They cut $1.4M and gain a roster spot for someone coming off LTIR, probably Hakanpaa

I’m worried Reeves is about to hit his shelf life. He has a lot of hard miles. I want some sandpaper but he may be about squeezed out. IF Sam Bennett hits the market I’d try and make room. My gut is that FLA will do everything they can to keep him. But, I was sure Stamkos wouldn’t move on from TB. Strange times |

Interesting to see the waiver wire. Wings need to swing a trade. We have too many defensive forwards. Look at how good #92 is doing. I’d take him over Veleno, burgers, and others. I’m starting to worry about Ras, and I’ve been a fan in the past. I like Fischer, but man, it’s like we have 5 of the same guy. |

The prize is Robertson and the Wings get to rid themselves of an unproductive Berggrin.

Just saw this post on X, ten players in the HHOF from the 2002 team. Times were different back then, a lot of trades and free agents to build a team. Not anymore!
“With the induction of Pavel Datsyuk on Monday, all of these guys from the 2002 Red Wings are in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Igor Larionov is missing from the picture. He was inducted in 2008.”

I really wanted Robertson over the summer, the Leafs were smart to get him into more game action. With today’s waiver I wonder if they’re looking at making a deal with CBJ. There is so much behind the scenes stuff right now and of course you don’t hear about it until it happens |

First, thank you. I appreciate all of you. Today was awful, but I have some bone bruises etc and just dealing with soreness. Yes, they need to swing a trade. Badly. I think I told H2 that it feels like Toronto may be looking at a trade. There are still players overseas (Soderstrom is one I really want them to look into from Utah). the business side of things has some fascinating wheels moving with the NCAA, CHL and soon enough some of the younger European leagues |

I don't care if Walman is an addict, a terrible teammate, etc...Nothing changes the fact that upon his trade, several other GMs publicly said they had no clue he was even being shopped. The basic role of a GM would be to notify other organizations that you are looking to trade a player. Gather offers. Make a decision. Whether it's Vrana 2.0 or not doesn't matter. Whether he succeeds or fails going forward doesn't matter. At the time he was perceived by other GMs as a useful asset. Not something you need a 2nd round pick to absorb. |

Do GM's have to disclose if a player has addiction problems or things like that when trading a player? I know they have to disclose medical issues or injuries but i have no idea if they have to tell the team trading for a player if he is a drug addict/alcoholic or if he likes to hit the bars all the time.
If Yzerman had disclosed it, that would explain why he didn't get anything for him. There is also the fact that he wanted a trade made ASAP because he thought he had a trade for Trouba but that was his mistake to believe the Rangers GM without actually talking to the player with the NMC. |

If a team is aware of an off ice issue with a player and does not disclose it they open themselves up to being penalized by the league, yes. |

Yeesh. Think about how some of the conversations from “The Boys on the Bus” have aged now. Several veterans spoke out to the Athletic (annonymously) that the younger generation is big on Molly and snow. IF there is trouble, you’re looking at 3 countries and multiple state and provincial borders worth of trafficking. They have to get ahead of this as some point |

Define off ice issue.
A guy who rolls his eyes during a team meeting?
A guy who never volunteers in the community?
A guy who complains about his coach, complains about a teammate, was asked to lose 10 pounds but didn't and gets buzzed on his days off.
None of that needs to be disclosed. You have to disclose medical info. So unless a guy had a known addiction and was seeking treatment (not the case here) then none of this was relevant in trade discussions.

I feel like it's pretty obvious I was referring to potential medical or legal issues that would impede his ability to play hockey. |

I’ll disagree in this. We’ve seen the Bruins trade good players because of their off ice issues. Culture matters to some clubs, and “getting buzzed”, especially if you’re violating international law can get the entire team in trouble. Not everyone agrees, but it is on a pro to be a pro on and off the ice. Teams have accountability clauses for a reason. People may not like it, but it’s still a part of being on some of the teams |
