Thanks NYN.
This one was as frustrating as it was ugly. Mostly, because it was self inflicted with no excuses for the execution and effort.
You’d think the team and D can remain in the hunt until they accrue enough cap space to add that top 4 D.
By the way Jiricek may be wanting out of CBJ not making the line up and CBJ wanting to send to AHL.
Maybe he’s not NHL ready or he needs a change of scenery. Plus not saying instant solution for top 4. Though he is an improvement over everyone on RSD other than Hronek. If he’s available maybe Hogs+ goes the other way? |

This quote sums it up correctly. Fix the top 4D, pay the price. Nil's b*tch, 1st and prospect.
“We've just got to put in a full effort every night,” Desharnais said. “There's no secret weapon. We're just too soft." |

Why is this coaching staff so hesitant to call a timeout? After the 3-1 goal wouldn't it be an appropriate time to light the whole team up? Last week we seen Edmonton call one after we made it 3-2 and we know what happened after that. |

York Newbury: Canucks Ugly in Loss to Islanders - York Newbury
Thanks NYN
Utter and complete poopshow by everyone…except Lankinen, that guy gets a huge pass in my books. I hope he throws a (frank)ing tirade at the team and leadership.
Maybe on Saturday he should step away from the net when Bedard comes down and say “what? you guys aren’t going to play competitive hockey why the (frank) should I”. |

Wasn’t able to watch the last game, busy, busy, hopefully a better effort tonight. Hawks are terrible defensively so the Canucks should be able to exploit that. Gotta smash that midget Bedard as much as they can and he’ll fold like a cheap tent. |

Let’s hope for some consistency from this team, I was glad that Tocchet took the blame for the lack of effort, but this team is too talented to play blasé hockey, the players better pick it up.
And not to keep harping about lack of physicality, but there is one guy playing physical and still producing, (Sherwood), (frank) Dak showed more balls than most last game. |

You’ve seen some games though? Canucks are terrible defending also, and Tocchet would have to have Sherwood on against Bedard, otherwise you’ll get a stick wave as Bedard streaks by one on Desharnais..🤷♂️ |

Terrible is a huge overstatement, they struggle at time for sure, but with 49 GA they’re tied for 9th best in the league. Although, the gaps right now are definitely tight with only 15-20 games played.
Last season they played much better as a five-man unit, their gap control this year is poor, too much separation between the forwards and the defence. And the PP is just not up to snuff.
I hope Pettersson goes head-2-head against Bedard and he just crushes him both physically and on the scoresheet. |

I'm just hoping to see more than 6 shots in the first 2 periods. Some sort of effort directed towards the opposition. Maybe a clean breakout or 2. |

Silovs in tonight.
For the first time in a long time, the Canucks are placing their faith in Arturs Silovs.
Vancouver has tabbed the Latvian goaltender against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night after more than two weeks without a start, head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed.
Tocchet also announced that defenceman Noah Juulsen will slot in for Vincent Desharnais.

No surprise there. It’s a back to back and saving Lakinens having had a full work week to go against most recent former team in Preds over Hawks. |

Happy for the kid!!
“Ty Young is expected to make his Abbotsford #Canucks debut today.
He'll face a Coachella Valley Firebirds team that carries a 10-2-0-1 all time record versus the Canucks.
A great opportunity for the former Prince George Cougar.“ |

He had a couple in Abby though , so their statement is misleading
Glad to see RT giving him a big HNIC game against a team we should beat .
He should have given him a weaker team start earlier and maybe the kid wouldn't have been so beat up already |
