really? it was 4 - 0 bro lol

I can see refs impacting a 1 or 2 goal game but 4-0 isn't a refs issue.

Don't take my word for it... TSN dedicated most of their coverage to the bad calls, HNIC did the same with their commentary, as have multiple other podcasts and writers.

Here's one from the Hockey News if you prefer...
"Ottawa Senators Fall 4-0 At Carolina Amid Fan Outrage Over Officiating"
https://sports.yahoo.com/...s-fall-4-0-033230687.html

Seems like an awful lot of people noticed the unusually poor officiating in this game, and the direct impact it had on the outcome.

who cares what people say and think. it was 4-0, not a one or two goal difference. public opinion over final results is irrelevant.

What he's saying is that the officiating set the pace for the rest of the game after that goal was taken away.

Every other fan base would say the same thing. If the game is 1-1 maybe the Sens eek out a point. Instead - two phantom calls put the team behind the 8 ball and down 3-0.

momentum is everything....refs decided the outcome of this game

Team I follow was losing and was given a 5 minute major. No excuses. They still came back and won. It's what good teams do. Heck even if it's not full come back at least make it close.

The refereeing was garbage. The penalty call on Stutzle was bizarre. Same with the Pinto call.

If the team continues to improve on its relatively solid team game and Ullmark can get his game to a 0.910 level or better, they should be fine. The team has faced a relatively difficult schedule so far.

You must be so proud that your team won a regular season game. Congratulations.

You must be proud you can blame a loss on refs and not your teams constant short comings. Kudos to you.

Love the comments from the peanut gallery. He said in the article that the call wasn't the reason the Sens lost. Relax.

Anyway - unrelated. I went to see Belleville vs Marlies on Saturday. Went to like a 11 or 12 round shootout with Sens winning. Tyler Boucher is terrible. I don't even think he's an AHL player. There were multiple times his teammates were directing him (Guenette was especially pissed with him) where to go as he was standing not paying attention or doing anything. It was wild when he was on the ice.

You need to work on your reading and comprehension skills. Neither I nor khawk blamed the loss on the refs.

Your post means nothing. i never named or quoted anyone. don't come at me. go at the guy who blamed the refs as his headline not the people responding to it. a penalty is one thing, failing to kill it is another.

Oh man our very own bridge troll! Do you also have crazy hair we can style any which way we want? What's the toll?

(Nearly) ubiquitous feedback from multiple outlets decried the refereeing. Including Carolina media. Irrespective of the fact Sens still likely would have lost, bad officiating is bad officiating. You wanna die on a hill defending the likes of Angel Hernandez, you best be prepared to lose the battle against public opinion.

Sens have a 500 points record right now. Season isn't lost, but this puts us in a boat with the Isles, Flyers, and Bruins, who I'd all classify as pretender teams resisting rebuilds. Not a huge fan of seeing the Sens on par with those names - a most nebulous and ill-defined position to be in.

The troll has a point. You must find a way to win, even if it feels like the world is out to get you. Regardless, the league should investigate the Stutzle and Pinto penalties so they don’t happen in the future.

I don’t think this loss would have stung as much if the Flyer game didn’t happen. This team can’t fall behind the Lightning and Bruins by too much for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic. They also need to separate themselves from the Flyers, Islanders, Sabres, Penguins, and Wings to have more chance of a wild card if necessary. The fact the Sens are in the mix with Flyers, Islanders, Sabres, Penguins, and Wings right now is a little frustrating.

However, a run of good games can change a lot of things. The next 4 games are very good tests. After that, from November 27 to December 12 is a chunk of extremely winnable games.

Just wondering... Did you watch this entire, I'm sure thrilling, Senators vs Carolina game? Enough to comment and disparage the writer for putting forth a story from a Senators fans point of view? Obviously that sequence of events was a major point in the game.

My guess would be no since the Leafs were on at the same time. But you do you.

Does it matter though? EVERY team in the league can point to brutal calls and non-calls that happen every game.

I do, do me, I have too much pride to do you. But hating me for being honest and holding the dude who made the headline accountable is just soft and full of projection like it's my fault they couldn't kill a penalty, let alone score a goal, and blamed the refs. This whole forum is text based and one should be accountable for what they put forth. Sure hate the Leaf fan and refs but neither cost the Sens a shutout loss. I did watch the Leaf game yes. 5 minute penalty on Reaves. Guess what...my team killed it and won the game. That game was thrilling. Enough with the excuses and nonsense. Was just the other day some Sens Writer said Perron lost his newborn. No place for garbage and when I see it I say something. My team lost 3-0 to the Sens last week, they were poop. No excuses. Sens got us good and my team wasnt good enough. I don't need to watch an actual game to know that not scoring a single goal isnt the refs fault or a valid excuse for losing in such fashion. Close game, sure I get it. But 4-0? Nah it's soft blaming the refs. Back to my team, the other day they had 2 goals called back. They didn't fold or make excuses. They still won the game. Even with their 60 goal scorer out of the line up. Maybe blaming others and not the ones responsible for winning the game, and failing, is why this team is stuck in mediocrity. Facts are facts. The Canes scored on the PP the Sens didnt. The canes killed their penalties the Sens didnt. Calling me a troll changes nothing, aside from justification to defend a team that isnt worthy of being let of the hook.Just because you don't agree with an opinion doesn't make the other person a troll. I'm here to speak my mind, not coddle the fragile and weak excuse finding minds.

Stop trolling. There is no reason to think a Tkachuk would want to leave a Canadian market to head south to a contender. Did you even watch the game? if he does it's probably a refs fault, and you have to actually watch the game to know it.

I don't think we're there yet but it seems to be going slowly in that direction. We'll see how the Sens play tonight against the Oilers.
