Quinn Hughes is just on another level, the kid controls the game and drives play like few others. "Hart Trophy" talk is starting to make its way around NHL circles on a national level.

Nice to see them winning, but their light schedule, as far as not playing better teams, is still concerning. They're about to head into a much tougher stretch of games, really need JT Miller back healthy and mentally ready to go.

Hoglander rumors, lots of chatter...

Dhaliwal reporting on the other app that CBJ assistant GM Josh Flynn is at the Canucks game today. CBJ has interest in Hoglander.

According the Friedman, there are some teams very interested in Hoglander. Names Pittsburgh Penguins as one of them.

On this day 55 years ago, the city of Vancouver was awarded a #NHL expansion franchise. Vancouver along with Buffalo hit the ice in the 1970/71 season, growing the league to 14 clubs. #Canucks  would play at Pacific Coliseum for the next 25 years.

Hughes is making a pretty solid case for the Hart right now, the guy is playing unbelievable hockey.

Canucks are 2 points back of where they were after this many games last year. No reason for concern over the schedule yet.

At this point Hughes, Kaprizov & Dylan Guenther are the front runners.

Garland has the benefit of playing with two of the best players in the world in Hughes and Pettersson...he's just lucky.

You have to make a trade...

Elliotte on Hronek: Still determining exact timeline but it's not going to be a short timeline. Canucks are getting 2nd and 3rd opinions.

Elliotte Friedman on Canucks on trade market : Alvin and Rutherford have told teams that we don't have to do anything and we are not going to be taken advantage of if teams think we are vulnerable.

Thanks NYN, impressed that despite not having Miller, Demko and Hronek that the team continues to be resilient.

Now I’m sure some dippoop will comment on weak opposition, easy schedule, yada yada, but why anyone feels the need to be a Debbie downer is just that, a dippoop.

They are responding to the adversity. The wins aren't pretty but they are 2 points at the end of the day. I'm not switching the channel after giving up the first goal or losing the lead in the 3rd period like I did during the Benning/Green dumpster-fire saga.
Hughes, Lankinen, and Garland are the 3 stars, nice to see DeBrusk and Pettersson getting their groove on and guys like Suter and Sherwood fighting for unsung hero.
Now, it's time to see what management has up their sleeves.

Another way of looking at it is that this is the best time in the schedule to have injuries, since they can still grind out wins without having everyone in the lineup.

I just hope that Hughes can hold up over the whole season with the rate he's playing at. Hopefully they end up in a situation where they can rest him a bit in the spring before playoffs
