Okay, Jacob Trouba:

Hearing Rangers do have several options, but Trouba can block with his partial no-trade. Rangers have indicated they will waive him if he does not accept one. One team is believed to be Columbus.

This is absolute hardball, but there is a precedent. In November 2005, Todd Marchant refused to waive his no-trade from Columbus to Anaheim as part of the Sergei Fedorov deal. So the Blue Jackets waived him, and the Ducks made the claim to "complete" the transaction.

We will see what the day brings

He's got a 15-team no trade list.

I'm guessing he's willing to waive that for all but a few teams.

Drury is trying to trade him before his value drops to zero.

CBJ, Det and Anaheim among the crop of teams circling around Trouba and the NYR. Complicated. Nothing going on between the Rangers and Ottawa Senators. Zilch.

Only reason I can see if they want to trade him to say Detroit ...And He uses his no trade clause... then they put him on waivers and Detroit picks him up... they get nothing now but maybe down the road Detroit owes.

How did it get to this point? I have been following it too closely.

Its all about $ and performance. They can't keep going like this paying big money and not getting the player they traded and signed for. Something has to give, they need to move on and change the dynamic of the team. As good as Trouba can be with some big hits, he's been making mistakes and the defense has just been porous.

I think this is just the beginning, management sees that this core can't win a cup against rounds of tougher teams.
Younger players are making some of the vets look slow and useless. Cuylle alone is making half the team look bad. Too much finesse and not enough grit for most of them, this team just can't compete and has lost its confidence.
Shesterkin has let in some soft goals but how long can you go stopping 40 shots a night?
