Very hard to sympathize with Jacob Trouba. What was done to him now was very similar to what he did to the Winnipeg Jets organization leading up to his 2019 trade from the Jets to the Rangers.

What goes around comes around. Good luck in Orange County.

On one hand, you have to give him credit as a person that he prioritized his wife/family. On the other, its not often an employee tells his boss what he will and will not do... or in this case, where he will and will not play. However, it seems the Jets did get the better end of the deal. Pionk, has been very bit as good, if not better for the Jets than Trouba has been for the Rangers, plus they drafted Ville Heinola with the 1st round pick they got. Although Heinola still hasnt been able to crack the lineup on a regular basis.

Speaking of weird, It was reported that someone on Detroit blocked a deal to come here, I wonder who and his reason.

I would think its Chiarot. The money seems right to offset taking on Trouba.

There was also a rumor that Columbus offered the best package but Trouba refused to go there. The other rumor was that Trouba's agent ( not Drury ) was the source of the various leaks throughout the process.
We are NEVER going to know the full story, so lets simply turn the page and all move forward. The game on March 28th will have a bit more juice to it, but its OVER...

Daylight game today. Bring on the Krakken! LETS GO RANGERS!

TC88, you’re correct. Weird on hockeydb it doesn’t list Henrique as part of the trade. But Henrique has a separate trade with Tampa (money retained I’m assuming?) and then to EDM

This is part of being a professional athlete. And part of the business of professional sports.
They get paid insane amounts of money to play a game.
And they don’t get to have it all regardless of the circumstances or more importantly, the quality of their play. And his was not only in decline, but never worthy of his contract.
Unhappy with how it ended or the tactics used to move you?

Ok. That’s fine.

But guess what?

THAT IS WHAT THE MONEY WAS FOR!
WHICH HE STILL GETS!
NO MATTER WHAT OR WHERE HE GOES!

Get over it.

That’s gotta be it. That would’ve been a wild trade

“The Rangers clearly moved Trouba to get in fully on JT Miller who has fallen out a favor in the Vancouver big time after confrontations with Rick Tocchet.

No, the Rangers are not done. I am still hearing Kappo Kakko, a prospect and a pick to Vancouver…”

I understand both parties point of view. As always it’s usually always the agent that leaks to make management the villain. Chris hasn’t been the worse or best GM, but for all the arm chair gm’s out there it’s never easy. This happens with other teams that have done the same crap, you just don’t hear about it because this is NY and everything is under a microscope for all the NY teams. Sorry it didn’t work out for him here, was always a fan and wish him good luck along with his new family

Easy to say you prioritize family over career when your career has already given you 60 million.
This wasn’t a family decision at all.
