Tochett threaten to send JT back to the pumpkin patch in Aldergrove where he was bullied by some kids the year before. |

rutherford wants petterson and it sounds like they may want to move on. How about DOC (925k)+ Pettersson ($4.025M) + nieto (2M) for JT ($8M) and a pick? Thats $6.9M going out for the pens and $8M going in. that would fit under each teams cap. I know that nieto isnt really a player wanted but thats an expiring contract that makes the #s work. acciari only makes $900k. |

They severely overpaid Miller, which is not his fault whatsoever...but with that contract comes expectations. I would guess it's a combination of a hard-a22 coach expecting the most from his top guy, and that top guy not reeeeaaaalllly being a "top guy" and folding under that pressure. I don't see Tochett as a guy with too much time for Miller's "feelings" and Miller seemed to crack under that pressure.
I really like Miller's game, but he should never be one of the top 2or3 guys on the team. This seemed like an accident waiting to happen. He could probably use a change of scenery and play under one or two other top guys. (we'd take him on EDM in a heartbeat!!!) |

Miller to Leafs with 20% retained…so about $6.4Maav
Canucks get 2025 3rd rounder (panthers), 2026 1st rounder, Robertson ($875K), Domi ($3.75M), and Kampf ($$2.4M).
Domi brings playmaking and grit and is a tradeable asset at the deadline if it isn’t working out. Robertson is very young and has potential, just needs a change of scenery…like JT. Kampf is the least attractive of the bunch but necessary to balance the books. He is solid defensively which may be attractive to Toccet and is on the books until 2027.
JT at $6.4M aav is doable for the Leafs. He gives them a very good option at 2C for this season allowing them to move the other JT to 3C. It also gives the Leafs a viable option for the future if they cannot resign Tavares to a reasonable AAV. |
