I’ll probably forget to say it, but thank you to every single reader. The post game for St. Louis was post #1,300 and I can’t believe it. It’s been a fantastic ride and I am grateful to be back up and running.

I can’t imagine what your “gameplan” is coming in during the break with one practice the same day as your first game. I’d be a bundle of nerves. It will be interesting if we hear when exactly conversations started.

The fact they signed McLellan on the same day means this was discussed way before they fired Fester. Maybe Yzerman was waiting until after the holidays but those games against the Habs and the game against the Blues forced him to do it sooner.

I don't think this team is making the playoffs no matter who is coach. My only hope is the new coach can raise the value of some of the dead weight on this team for Yzerman to be able to move them out before the deadline without having to hold back a lot of salary or paying to move them out in the off-season. No matter the coach, this team still needs a massive overhaul on defense and even at forward for it to be competitive for next season.

When the Wing's blog went silent, I was disappointed, for sure. When you came to us, it was a breath of fresh air. You write honestly, no fluff, and in a way that lends introspection of the reader. I know it helps you deal with TBI, so keep it up. I read several other blogs (not daily, but I do peruse others....), and find yours to be genuine and the readers/responders here are so much more respectful.....I attribute that to how you write and interact with your readers. You bring out the best in us because you write the best for us.

I'd think tomorrow will be a bit of a feeling out game. Todd Mac already knows what he has for player quality, so it's a bit of seeing it 1st-hand. I'd think he's already developed plans for this team. I'm excited to see how it goes.

We have players that need to go, we all know that. I think most of us know making the SCPO is a pipe-dream; we just want to see some cohesiveness, some continuity, some comprehensive schemes for this team. Show us improvement.

Well since we won't make the playoffs, i do want a top 4 draft pick so the Wings can get one of Hagens, Misa, Martone or Schaefer. Aside from that, just want to see some dead weight leave to make room for improvements for next season.
