Kind of tough waiting for all these prospects to develop and then come over here to GR and then Detroit. Feels like an eternity when you team is playing like crap. I'm cautiously optimistic that McClelland can infuse some defensive structure and teach this team how to play good team defense. This change was badly needed and overdue.

This team definitely needed a fresh set of eyes to re-evaluate the talent and line combinations. Maybe now the kids will get more opportunities to play and a few of the useless vets will finally sit on the bench. Reminded me of Blashill and Babcock mentality.

It’s definitely tough, I have to remind myself how few 19 year olds I’ve seen in my lifetime make the team. It felt like Augustine or ASP would take the next step but neither did. Hindsight being 20/20, both are probably in a better place mentally for having done so. Am eager for one or both to make the step after their seasons wrap up for sure. I also agree, the “tie goes to the veteran” just doesn’t hold weight right now. Let the waiver wire fill up as kids come in if they can take the job.

There will be some flights over to the Netherlands in a few days. Maybe hang out with the U20s?

I'd like to see Soderblom get called up and play. His offensive stats aren't impressive but the big man has the hands and shot to put up offense. From the highlights i have seen of him in GR this season, he seems to be much more physical. Wings need a big guy that can lay some hard hits and play. Hell i would trade Rasmussen to call up Soderblom if need be.

Fist: Wishing you all a safe and Happy New Year! SC seafood boil ontap for tonight along with a late Christmas Hockey present! Oysters n Wings, methinks?!?!?!?

I really feel ambivalent about the season. We don't have the legs to hang, yet, we saw that in the 3d periodthe other night. Vets are slow, kids are gassed. We need fitness and D, Todd Mac will bring the solution to one, the end of the season will bring the other. Going forward, defensive improvement and PK must be paramount.

ASP is a revelation....against young men, and he stands tall against men in the SHL. The kid's gonna be good, y'all. I want to see him & MBN consistently on NA ice, though. The good thing is, ASP seems like an easy adapter. Auggie's not the same G as last year, I feel. His game is a bit off. BUT, man can he move and track the puck. I'm almost of the opinion he could be better than Cossa. Cannot wait to see the 4 kids above wearing the Winged Wheel.

Play out the D vets, give our kids a chance to develop a bit more in GR, but I wantto see some of them play NHL games. We have some good ones. Buchelnikov looks like he could be lights-out. Mac's going to have ariperoster in 2yrs, with a steady flow of talent coming in. We need to find that generational talent, or fill the roster with studs. This team has the foundation to be scary-good.

I’ve kind of been around the dial on things. Watson has the team in GR in such a better place mentally, now looking at ASP staying in Europe sort of the same way. Kasper has seen a tough mental year and lost a little swagger. Hoping he gets some bounces
