Just a couple hours ago Patrick Johnston of the province said this:
“ Forget any other teams that have been connected to the situation by insiders. No, the Carolina Hurricanes aren’t really an option. Neither are the Dallas Stars or the New Jersey Devils.”

Since they moved Trouba..the Rangers have the ability to take on all of the salary which gives them the upper hand over any other teams. I think Drury will ease on his demands of retention and they get a deal done fairly soon. This will cause the return to be pretty low going to back to Vancouver

I’ll put my Ek hat on and say E4-

Miller for

Victor Mancini
Adam Sykora
and a protected first rder

The Canucks are just as close to the playoffs as the Rangers. Don't you think they'd require a roster player coming back?

Yea but they’re in a pickle because they apparently need to move on from milller. But they’re could easily get Reilly smith in any trade and flip him at the TDL if they fall out of it, as the player you mention (roster player)

I think it’s obvious the rangers have the hammer here. Mostly because they can take on all of Millers salary

No I don’t think they’d trade Borgen. He’s been really good for them and they needed him desperately, and I’d expect them to re-sign him as a matter of fact

Mancini showed pretty well in his stint up here. He’ll be a solid 3rd pair guy down the road, young and big right handed shot

Reilly Smith could 100% go to Vancouver tho

Miller to Carolina is at least plausible.

As opposed to the Flames sitting in a playoff spot trading away Kadri, who has a NMC and publicly said he loves it there, imploding their season, and one potential buyer is the lowly Penguins.

Your return is too light, but would give Van a good chunk of cap relief. I am sure they want NHLer(s) as they are in the wild card race.
