Shame they didn't put themselves in a better position to draft Parekh last year and Misa this year. But, Flyers gonna Flyer. |

Misa thinks they are crazy.
He will be long gone by the time the Flyers pick. |

At this point, the Flyers are out of the playoffs. We all knew they would t make it with the current t level of talent on their roster. So what business do they have going out and beating the Lightning?!?! Makes no sense at this point. Get the highest pick you can. Can’t believe I’m saying this? As I hate team tank. However, being stuck in purgatory blows!
And of course, the Bee is thriving in Calgary now.
As a previous poster said, “Flyers gonna Flyer”. The word for me is apathy. Sad, really… |

If the coGM really thinks packaging together a bunch of late first rounders is getting him into the top 3 they should sack him immediately. |

Well I disagree as Briere has had his eyes on Hagan for well over a year and a half. They envision him as the franchise center. Best part is they refused to put themselves in a position to get said player. |

Schaefer is probably the only "star" in the draft. Misa would be a solid pick. Has that 2 way in him the Flyers would love. |

I don’t know if I buy that story. Small ncaa kid from Gauthier’s college. Doesn’t seem like their type of guy. |

Of course they want Misa but they won too many games early in the season by hanging onto vets they didn’t need. Always in the same spot this time of year being so close to the top pick but oh so far. They’ll never learn.
Honestly with this draft though all they have to do is get a top 10 pick and whatever Center they take there is going to be the future 1C here. The road is wide open.
Now let’s just hope Briere doesn’t think he’s the smartest guy in the room again reaching on another Jett type. |

When was the last time a team traded down more than 2/3 spots when picking top 3
I am starting to think ek = jd250 - corduroy
The only team in the top 5 now that may trade down is Seattle. They have no need for another center and a tremendous need for a defenseman.
On Twitter I read that according to Pronman and Wheeler, Desnoyers will go top 5, maybe as high as 3rd overall pushing Hagens down. If Frondell also jumps Hagens he could be there at 6. Of course the Flyers will then have the 7th pick. |

Hagan is Boston College not Boston U unless I’m mistaken.
Either way I think the Flyers have largely soured on college players. That would somewhat explain the Jett over Buium pick at least. |

When you're a losing franchise with an unpopular coach calling the shots you gotta worry about stuff like the NCAA "loophole".
Funny how this was never a problem for them before. |

They had plenty of opportunity with Sanheim, or Konecny to maximize value in a trade pre extension - and further ensure they picked lower in the draft.
Retaining those two was asinine, even after Krug cancelled the deal.
Everything else aside, the decision to not fully rebuild by moving those two players will be felt for a while.
Now yes, all you’ve got are assets in latter round picks to try to get higher end talent - or free agency.
Michkov, and pick #7 this year are not nearly close to enough. The Briere era is just a waste of time as currently set up.
Jones, and Briere are praying free agency saves them. |

They had no opportunity to move Sanheim. He has a NTC. They tried to move him already and he nixed it. Sanheim was nowhere near as good as hes been playing at the time as well. They cant trade him until Year 5 of his deal.
TK they could have moved but we dont know what kind of offers out there. If the Flyers got offers similar to what guys went for this season, im sure they would have jumped at it. 1 Late round 1st however doesnt really do it for me.
With TK signed long term perhaps they may look into moving him in the offseason. Im sure there are going to be a lot of teams looking to make a splash like CAR and NSH. If NSH could be a team that may not be looking to pick, they may want to get better now. They could also only be interest in a certain player that may be gone by the time they draft. NSH could be more interested in TK and a late 1st. They didnt sign Machessault and Samkos to rebuild. |

Miss won’t slip past 3 most likely, and has the chance to be the top pick depending if the lucky draw wants to go defense or not. |

They would have gotten the usual type of return..a first, a player and a prospect...not just a late first.
Just makes me shake my head how much some defend this team. It was a bad decision to resign him. By year 6 of the contract you should be caught up

Sanheim could have been moved pre his extension. On the last year of his deal with maximum retention he could have been moved - and should have been. It was Krug that stopped the deal to St Louis.
I don’t see them moving Konecny now, especially with Jones going all in on trying to improve their image league wide.
Both players should have been moved pre extension. To get more assets, but more importantly to improve draft positioning.
Again, we have Michkov, Luchanko, Bonk - and say pick 7 this year. They are already talking about being eager to move this along. I’ll add Cates, Foerster, York, and Drysdale as Keith Jones would be upset if I didn’t. That group, plus say a 7th overall pick is the prize here? After a decade of bullpoop, and a “rebuild” by the triumvirate?
In what should have been a window to gather your high end pieces, they have failed to do that. Seasons thrown away, for what exactly? |

“I don’t think he’s worried about making mistakes. That’s what I like about him. I don’t think he worries about that. I think if he makes Play A and it doesn’t work, he’s going to go back to Play A again, if it’s there again, which I think is really good,” the Flyers coach said Friday.
“[But] I want him to respect the league and when I say respect the league, I want him to understand that there’s a process for him to come into this league. And respect is a big part of it. You can’t do some things sometimes. You’ve got to wait your turn to try those certain plays or think you can do that.”
“I think he’s going through a learning process of making mistakes and thinking he can do certain things that he can’t right now, and that’s respecting the league,” Tortorella added. “I think young players, especially with the athletes nowadays, I don’t think they respect the National Hockey League. I think they’ve been brought up, they’ve been coddled, they’ve been told, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah.’ And they just have the entourage around them that they think they’re ready to do it right now.
“I think he has to go through a process of learning, through some mistakes, and find out what he can and cannot do.”

Its stupid but he isnt wrong. An example would be Trevor Zegras, we all know hes famous for the Michigan move hes scored on a bunch of times right? When he tries those goals, other teams take exception to that and go right after him. Ive seen it a bunch of times. I agree its stupid but the players in the league are stupid. We get fights over clean hits.
