Dobson isn't going to sniff $12M. He probably comes in somewhere around where Chychrun is now. If he gets $12M after the year he's had, his paychecks are going to be coming from a different team's bank account.

I agree he shouldn’t. But if Chychrun is getting 9 Dobson is easily going to want more. His numbers historically way better. Right shot. Plays some actual D. I’d rather have him than JC any day.

He's outpacing Dobson in points and goals this year and Dobson has been a tire fire defensively. Obviously Dobson had a monster year last season but I'm not sure they're going to go too high after the one he's had this year.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Dobson looks for a bridge deal to give him another 2 years or so to inflate his value. If that's the case, and they can't agree on a long-term extension at some point soon, then I would assume that they look to move him at some point in the near future.

It's difficult to think that Chychrun will hit 20 goals or 50 points again unless he plays 82 games, and even then he has never hit those in his career
