Double agree they need to find better a way to start games on time and not always count on a miracle comeback.

The Evans line needs to be close to the level it was at the start of the season.

You haven't spoken at all about goalies, there's a big dip in performance there as well.

Primeau is 16-2-1 with Laval and a 2.13 GAA and 0,916 those are pretty solid numbers, does he deserve another shot?

I like the Struble - Hutson combo, they have done really well together, so I wonder if Struble will actually sit out much upon Guhle's return.

Heineman does not seem like the same player since his return from bodycheckign a car, and Armia is playing hurt right now. That line is just banged up I think, more than anything, but you can see they are trying (at least).

Evans still has some jump.

I'm not sure if the Habs make the playoffs or not, last I looked it was basically a coin flip (based on schedule and wins), just glad we are actually talking about the games played at this time of the year.

He's playing too much, he is not a top 1A goalie, he plays well when leading a tandem. Dobes needs some action or if they don't trust him, bring back primeau for a game or two

You're right, I haven't mentioned them and perhaps it's my bias as a former goaltender but I'm not willing to blame them for the rise in goals against just yet.

Montembeault had a rough game against St-Louis but did some pretty good saves at times against Ottawa and Coloardo that were part of the reasons we got points in those games.

Dobes needs to play a game here and there to give Monty a break and of course we want/need them to be difference makers but I don't think the goalies are the reason we lost the last three games.

No.

That ship has sailed, at least for this season.

How many points were lost already because he didn't keep us into games?

I wouldn't risk sending him in with 12 games left unless an injury occurs.

Not even close. His previous career high was 41 games played.

He's already at 53, which is a Carey Pricesque pace.

Nice work as usual Hugo.

What's the defensive system called that they use again?

Chicken with Head Cutoff??

hence the fatigue he is showing lately, we are seeing more "weak" goals then previously this season. He struggles keeping his focus for 60+min every game. He didn't play at the 4Nations but he still get the full break to rest.

That, and this..

“We had a lot of turnovers that gave them momentum,” said David Savard, “and they kept it all the way through the game.”

I didn't even watched last night, I only checked the scores online from time to time but even the previous games, Monty has allowed a weak goal or two per game but the scoring was there to back him up. Looks like the wheels came off last night.

Why did they struggle before the 4nations? They claimed they were tired and needed a break. Are they heading rapidly towards that as a team, running out of gas before the end?

tks Hugo,
I'm with you, way too easy to blame the goalies. not that they could not be better, but far from being the main issue

I guess that is part of the learning process.

For several years, they were mailing it in the last few months of the season. Taking care of yourself, learning to manage aches and minor injuries, to last the full 82-games + playoff games is something a lot of these guys are doing for the first time.

I'm surprised a guy like Hutson has not flat out fallen over from exhaustion, given he has never played this much hockey in a season.

Habs still have about a 47% chance to get in.
