I think Martone and Desnoyers are more in the current Flyers vein.
I honestly hope they aren't picking low enough to worry about the Nylanders and Fondells of the world. |

For the love of god, please do not rush both players back. Makes no sense.
I really like Eklund as a prospect. I do not believe this regime would have the courage to draft him with all the public chatter needing centers and/or get bigger |

After last night, Flyers are in a prime position to finish 4th or 5th. What a total clusterfrank of a year for Kolosov's development. The organization failed in his development. A 23 year old goalie, who has been relatively healthy has played a total of 27 games. He still cannot even get on the bench in the last few games of a lost season. He played 53 games previously in the KHL. Total mismanagement and the player has some responsibility, no doubt. However, it was up to management to read the situation better. If he stayed in the KHL and the thought was he would probably never come over, so be it. Better then what happened this year. |

I guess all the bans have finally killed this site.
As soon as hockeyhotstove.com goes live I'm sure everyone else will be gone too.
An abject lesson on how to destroy something. I've been posting here as long or longer than anyone and only caught one ban ever a few weeks ago for posting about Flyers culture. No insults, no bad words, no disrespectful language, unless you say I was disrespectful to the Flyers.
I was once a season ticket holder and cancelled that after this site started to go downhill. I see the cliff coming and it's time to get off soon.
Thanks Ek for 19 years(!) (March, 2006) of hockey talk. It was a daily visit for me. It's too bad what happened here, but it was self-inflicted. - MBFlyerfan

Well, seeing what people are being banned for, and it is anything critical of the organization, you can add 2 and 2.

Bollocks.
Here are the causes of decline of the Flyers blog:
1. The malaise of the team led people who had other things to do than muse endlessly about the same completely inconsequential things (Is Risto good/bad etc) for the 1000th time to leave.
2. This led to a vicious cycle where the dullards tended to predominate. In this stagnancy, familiarity bred contempt, leading to much arguing, leading more to leave, including all the women (Remember when Sarah Briere, Bodiva, Davies, FlyersGrace, NastyFlyersGirl used to post regularly)?
3. While the site was cutting edge when it came up, it never kept up to changes in the digital world like X etc, and easily correctable things like quotes not working from front page were never fixed. That, along with the buzz of ads/pop-ups -> more people drifted away.
4. Bill M's columns got more company-lineish.
5. The Hockey base is getting older and older in the US, leading to lack of youthful vibrancy. Further, young people have a lot else to do nowadays.
My suspicion is that this site has bled viewers for a long time now, far before the recent flurry of bans. Don't mistake post counts for view counts.
Of the reasons I list above, only 3 is self-inflicted.

Did more people get banned recently? I looked at this thread earlier today and thought there were more responses. Were some posts removed? |

I guess the people that are still here and didn’t get banned could sound off.

Still around, not sure what has happened to others. It was such a good night for the tank last night, expected more chatter about it. Hopefully, everyone is not banned.

I'm not sure of who was banned or temporarily banned, but there were too many posters that argued back and forth like husband and wife. Throw in the name calling, condescending remarks and it seemed like you spent most of your time on this site scrolling passed their remarks. It's a sports site. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Don't be a keyboard warrior. Don't post something you wouldn't say to somebody's face in person.
I would like to see the Flyers lose out the rest of the season and get the 4th pick in the draft, but I would LOVE to see the Flyers beat the Rags tomorrow and help knock the Rags out of the playoffs. Just a little joy at the end of another bad season. |

Mickel25 had one post that disappeared. Dunno about the others.
Hope that guy didn't get banned. He is the epitome of graciousness and good-naturedness. |

Out of town scoreboard looking great right now. If it holds true, the flyers will be dead last in the east. |

Bruins beating the Devils very badly. The path to 4th overall for the Flyers is opening up nicely. Just need the Flyers goaltending to remain status woe. |

Great!!! As long as he's playing with someone ,at Center, who's ceiling is as high as that of Anton Frondell. |

I do wonder if Frondell will have a Carlsson type elevation in the draft and go 2nd overall. I do believe Schaefer has the best chance to be the best player in this draft. Whoever gets 1st, I would assume the pick will be Schaefer (I believe the Flyers would draft him).

When this website debuted it was a great way to get daily hockey and in particular Flyers news and interaction with fans.
Besides the Flyers being a basement dwelling team for a few seasons now, new social media outlets have since bubbled up and become successful on instagram, X, TikTok, and of course YouTube. Metzer was a big draw here but now there's a nice new crop of millennial/zoomer content creators on social media offering up heaps more than this website can.

I don’t believe he can usurp Misa in the top 2, but his value is on the rise.
From my research, I see him and Hagens in that 4/5 spot.
But hey, monkey wrenches get tossed in all the time. |

Mhm. Can’t argue this. I pop in only to see a lot of the same stuff over and over.
And to be fair, it’s all the team has really given their fanbase. No wonder it has bled quality posters.
I’m excited for the draft. I’m sick of being excited for the draft. I want to be excited for a team headed in the right direction. All we get are glimpses.
Good point about the fanbase aging, as well. The younger fans aren’t really going to search out this medium anyways. They want instant gratification on an app that immediately reaches the masses. |

I will take all 5-4 losses, nothing can help the goalie stats, so let the other team score and have the right Flyers score, build a little mojo with the O and D putting up points

No it wasn't. - PT21 I kind of think it was. At the risk of being banned yet again I'd like to share with you what got me a 4 day ban last week. Someone on here said that Tocchet will be back in Philly soon. Book it!! My response was this, "Please no!!! Although that is my fear." That was all I said? I ask you, what is wrong with that comment? I've gone on other team's blogs and I see comments that would get banned on this thread, so it seems to be the Flyers blog that is being heavily moderated. I dunno... |
