Batherson ?? Wow…

Helleson & Colangelo for him.

Or Minty ?? Straight up.

Or one of our goalie prospects ??? And a pick…

Plenty of ways to make it work.

Have to think a trade with Batherson would need a solid roster player coming back. Sens need more prospects its true, but they shouldn't be taking a step backward when they finally made the playoffs.

The centers are established with Stuz, Cozens, and Pinto, although it remains to be seen if Cozens can find consistency. Not sure about trading Batherson to be honest though, as it could open a real hole on the wing where its already somewhat sparse.

He's a bonified second line winger with the 25 goal 60 point pedigree. Would the assumption be you sign one of the free agents available to fill his place, someone better, but more expensive to play with Stu?

It may be best to let Giroux walk, assuming he doesn't leave on his own. As mentioned, lets the team get younger, and he has taken a step back each season.

The team has a glut of middle six wingers, and it remains to be seen where Giroux would slot in when all is said in done, unless that Batherson trade comes to fruition.

Don't necessarily have to let him walk. But he's a third or fourth line player at best now on this team. Is he willing to accept that role? Is he willing to accept that price point?

At that salary he could go work in a non-tax state AKA Dallas Tampa or Florida for the same amount of money and probably have a better shot of winning a cup next year.

Give him a one-year deal with some bonuses attached to that he can easily attain and tell him clearly what his role is going to be.

The glaring need is first line right winger to play with Timmy with some size and speed.

Minty = Pavel Mintyukov

21 year old Russian. 2 years with Ducks. I have no idea of his pedigree.

As for trading Batherson ..... why? We would just be going back onto the market to try to find a big winger who can pot 50-60 points per season at a market friendly contract number .......... hmmmmm ..... Batherson already provides that element.

I can see letting Giroux go. At some point his play will decline even more, so let's cut the cord and move on and get younger/faster/scoring touch , and perhaps more $$$ for a contract. With both Perron and Zetterlund, Giroux becomes a luxury.

even if ANA offered all 3 of those players OTT would not even consider. OTT dont need LD and the other 2 are unimpressive and lacking.
