Foligno extended for 4 yrs/4 Mil. There’s a lot of risk in these deals. Foligno scored 7 goals and gets a raise with term. Hmmm. Zucc will probably decline and it’s common sense that both will deal with some lost time with injuries.
Yeah, I am not really sure if I feel good about these signings. I understand the idea of keeping Kirill happy with his buddy. And I understand Foligno is a major part of the chemistry this team has. But I just don't understand blocking on these young guys in Iowa. I was feeling ok about the cap and what kind of room they will have next year, but I think all good feeling have done away now. I am hearing that Hartman is going to be asking for well over $4 mil a year now as well. So here is to hoping that Rossi becomes a stud and is elevated to the top line. Hartman will then see his value drop (in regards to a salary) and probably traded away. That opens 1 spot for the younger guys.
And after last nights game against Chicago, Spurgeon is now hurt and listed as being week to week. That REALLY puts wrench into the plans. They are going to have to run with a roster of 12 forwards, 6 dmen and 2 goalies for a few weeks now. Need to not bring anyone up to conserve what little cap space there is. Dakota Mermis was probably thinking he might be headed north, but not for at least a couple more weeks.
Sounds like about $4 Mil/3yrs for Hartman. That’s a little high if he’s not playing with Kaprizov. He could be a bottom 6 if Rossi steps up making $4 Mil pretty high for that role. But I guess that’s what he’s worth on the market.
Spurgeon missing a few games probably elevates Merrill into the top 4. Oof!
