The timeout called by Montgomery in the midst of the Panthers really taking it to us was the game changer. Loved seeing him get the guys under wraps, calm them down, and settle things a little bit. Things seemed to be tilting heavily in Florida's favor, and Monty made a good move slowing things down.
I was expecting a much heavier game from Florida, and expect them to step up the lumber laying next game very early.
Swayman is playing like a man on a mission, which permeates throughout the entire team. When you know the goalies got your back, you can make those pinches and jump in on the offense with confidence, and that makes all the difference. He keeps playing like this, I think we can take just about anyone in a 7 game series.
Keep it rolling boys!! |

Swayman has been unreal. Secondary scoring showed up. Lohrei was determined to bury one.
And who the (frank) is this Brandon Carlo guy? Never seen him play quite like that. Hitting everything that moved. Loved it.
Bruins out hit the panthers 71-55. That is a big difference from last year. Also 26 blocked shots.
Faceoffs could use a bit of improvement, but the defensive play and physicality was exactly what they needed to bring last night. |

Without bonafide top centers this is going to be a deficiency. They have to continue to play well in other areas to overcome it.

This is true. If the centers the bruins do have are even close to their regular season percentages then that would still be an improvement. I could nitpick more things, but I liked what I saw last night. |

I will say this about Swayman as a former goalie and then goalie coach at a high level.
He is really really good. I didn't realize how good until watching him beat my team and the game last night.
Good luck and beat the cocky Panthers. |

if they were going to start Ullmark, tonights their only chance really. But one thing abour the rotation all season, both goalies are relatively fresh. you got goalies out there with 60+ starts. thats a lot of hockey. |

Enough of this, please. It's Swayman until Ullmark is needed. Tinkering is what nearly cost them series last round and definitely cost them last year. |

I agree 100%, I was just sayin is all. but not tinkering was what cost them last year, especially when Ullmark was hurt

I was on board with giving the rotation a try for the playoffs but Swayman is un-benchable after game 1.
'
Nothing Ullmark can do. Swayman is locked in. I honestly thought they might go to Ullmark in game 1 but since they stuck with Swayman and he had that performance. Can't do it now. |

Agree on Ullmark last year. Don't agree on the tinkering. Very unpopular opinion: Putting Bergeron and Krejci back in the lineup is what cost them. Team was rolling without both in the series. They could've been rested and re-inserted in round 2.

I don't disagree with that, moreso with Krejci than Bergy IMO. I don't think they won a game after Krejci came back, maybe both not sure.

This and the near constant juggling of lines. Just a lot of knee jerk reactions. The series this year has a different feel (much more physical from the bruins), and Swayman has been unreal. |

Tonight feels like a night the Panthers try to come out and be bullies and end up taking dumb penalties that the Bruins take advantage of.
