Danota must be dinged. He's been one of the better Hawks, is solid both ways. And, IMO Smith had his worst game as a Hawk last game.

That said the have Reichel playing center???? Kid can't get his nose over the puck playing wing with less responsibility than a centerman.

So the kid is jumpy, can't find answers and you put him at C??

Not sure if you spelled Donato as Danota on purpose but from now on I'm calling him Danota!

He needed a change of scenery. It wasn't going to happen here for him. What sucked is that he was the sweetener for Bickell's contract. Would have been nice to get some kind of value for him, other than freeing up cap space.

Needed a change of scenery? That was his 1st full season with the Blackhawks.
He was thrown in as a sweetener because Bowman was clueless. But you are right,it would have been nice to get a prospect or pick for him,even though Bowman would have picked the wrong guy too

Bowman could have probably packaced a 1st or 2nd rounder to get rid of Bickell's contract,but he was dumb and traded Teravainen instead.
It wasn't his only dumb move, he moved Panarin for Saad. Danault was traded as well for Weise + if I'm not mistaken.

It won't take too long for Hawk fans to see just how good Martinez is by his absence. ..... We, and KD, knew the old Dmen he signed would only play x amount of games. Nice to have the depth to bring up reasonable options like Phillips, Crevier, Del Mastro and Allan...

This will be a yr long thing and the prospects will probably be better off for it. .. This has a chance to work out nicely.

Man, we are really going into an era of long term high price goalie contracts. Not saying Ottinger is bad or not "worth it" but we just had 3 NHL goalies recently sign for 8.25 mil per year and two of them for full 8 year term. Swayman, Ullmark and Ottinger.

$8.25 is the new $5.0. They will age fine if the goalie plays well. Terribly if not, and be stuck with that cap hit and you still need to find a goalie.

I'm really glad that puck found a hole into the net, but i still not a fan at least not yet.

I sure hope Reichel keeps playing the way he is right now.

Bedard just moving over to the left wall changes how teams have to play him on the power play.
